I really liked this one. And the scientist was sympathetic, while her crazed husband was a tad less so. There was at least 1 death -- the agent who went into the time bubble first and got disintegrated (confettied).

I thought the time jumps were extremely creepy and the effects for them were excellently subtle. Am now torn between wanting Peter to get back to the bluniverse and wanting him to convert the amberverse Olivia and Walter into accepting him.

Another good episode.

Overall, I really hope Fringe doesn't pull a LOST. I want them to end the series well.

The end of last season would have been a good ending (imo) I hope they can match that or better when they decide to stop this.

They have an easy enough endgame option... Peter saves both universes (Red and Yellow), then dissappears back to his own Blue timeline and they all live happily ever after the end.

- Abyss, taking bets it's not that simple by a long shot...

Mostly great ep this past Friday Nov 11...

SPOILERS

Cool fringe-science problem. I kind of wish the mad scientist(s) had been less sympathetic, and they had ramped up the impact of his experiments with some deaths rather than a series of convenient and just barely avoided close calls. The first one with the firs and the baby were very cool tho, no pun intended.

I did think the Fibronacci sequence explanation of the effects was damn cool, and Walter's Faraday cage complete with spinal spike was a nice touch.

Peter was in fine form this ep, being helpful despite how fucked his situation is. I also liked that Olivia recognized what he was feeling.

Was it my imagination, or did the pre-commecial pics (flower, six fingered hand, sea-horse) looking like they were crumbling/rotting?

Personally I think what has been making Fringe so much better this last season and a half is that the antagonists are always sympathetic to some degree. It lets it transcend what could otherwise be lacklustre Monster-of-the-Weekdom and become something more.

Another solid episode this week, although I felt a bit insulted by the writers' abject failure to do mathematics technobabble. Those equations were nowhere near sophisticated enough. Get them some sum and product signs, stat! And maybe some <bra|ket> notation, that always looks sophisticated, especially when you include some Greek symbols.

Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

Excellent point. The humanity of the show is what really elevates it. +1 to you.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

I appreciate that they humanize some of the antagonists, but overall i prefer stark raving lunatic mad scientists doing crazy for crazy's sake and periodic cold blooded murdering shapeshifter plots over 'i'm just trying to save my loved one at any cost oops i almost destroyed the world'. We get plenty of the latter, better, from Walter.

Last episode: OMFG! Main plot was so-so only, didn't really think much of it (and some of the dialogue was awful clunky). Besides, didn't Buffy do this in Season 3, with the invisible girl who faded away from being ignored?

But _loved_ the developments with Lincoln and Olivia, and the DUN! moment at the end. Looking forward to seeing where they take it in the rest of the season now.

I was a bit perplexed by the decision to make invisible kid a stalking murdering melanin sucking invisible vampire but end the ep with such a blatant attempt to make him sympathetic. They could have gone one way or the other but the middle of the road approach, rather than making him ambiguous and interesting, made it seem like the writers couldn't decide what they were doing. And so much of his story was developed separate from the actual cast that it was hard to even consider it connected.

That said, the ending justified the entire episode. An not certain we're getting evil Nina or just 'do what's best even if it's bad for you' Nina... i'm good either way, extra points if she finally snaps someone's neck with her cyber-arm.

Am also thinking that Peter attempting to rebuild the Machine cannot possibly end well.

Olivia and Lincoln's 'moment' was cute.

I forget - Do we know whether over in the redniverse nOlivia is hooked up with Lincoln or still with that Dr-dude she was living with?

- Abyss, hateses the hiatus, yes he doeses.

Over in the other universe, the dynamic between Alt Lincoln and Alt Olivia is more clearly – and frustratingly – defined as unrequited. Although the two have “really great chemistry,” Gabel notes, Alt Olivia doesn’t respond to her partner in the way he so desperately desires. “She sees it very much as a brother/sister relationship, so she’s very open and welcoming to [him],” explains Gabel. “She’s happy to have someone to play with, and I just want her to love me.”

I'm thinking that Nina is keeping her emotions in check or something. Maybe to prevent her powers from becoming active? I don't know..

Rumours are swirling that no one has yet made up their mind on a 5th season yet...

sigh, why do they do this EVERY SEASON to us?!

Because the ratings are always marginal.
The consistent 1.1 audience share that has followed this show for four seasons and three or so reschedulings loves it dearly, but the numbers have never gone higher.

Last season it survived because the showrunners used their brains to drop the fx budget considerably and still put out a solid product. So no ratings increase, but the cost dropped enough to keep it alive.

This season it may be a `diminishing returns` thing. Those who love it still love it but new viewers aren`t showing up, and it has enough episodes to make syndication which means throw in DVD sales and they can arguably make more money from the show by NOT producing a season 5 than if they do. Sick, i know but it`s the nature of the beast.

There is still hope but the decision will be made based on almost every factor except how the show performs in ratings.

I'm okay with it ending as long as it ENDS. Everyone called for more seasons of Lost, but that ending (arguably) sucked. Really, if they end this season as well as last season, I'm fine with it being gone.

Am intrigued altho i'm not sure we're seeing a change so much as priorities. The shapeshifters are a threat to his world too after all.

Excellent ep. Totally enjoyed and so nice to see the bluenieverse and redniverse teams interacting again.

The biggest twist was
