Yeah, that's a big part of it, but there's something more too. I think it's down to the way Anna Torv changes her body language when she's playing that part. I ain't complaining!

Goes back to my point that Torv is a way better actress than she gets credit for.

She's even managed to show Yellowverse Olivia slightly different from pre-de-Peter Blueniverse version.

I love red Olivia! She's like a totally different person, more confident, more open, and more readily humorous than blueniverse Olivia. If they didn't look identical, it would be clear they were separate people.

BTW, Walter cannot be said to have 'slipped up' re: mentioning Peter in the killer fungi episode. a) he doesn't recognise Peter as an adult. ;) Peter still existed, but died as a kid. The situation with the kid was so similar, you can see why Walter might have slipped, as it was clear there was a lot of baggage transfer even before the kid's condition got bad.
It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

Ahh, but at the end of last season the watcher never existed and Walter is the only one to mention Peter as a kid. I know its thin, but I wanted to call my wife smart! DONT BE TALKIN' BOUT MY WIFE!!!!! meh, just good fun speculation.

The latest episode made me think of Dr. Manhattan from Watchmen.

Anyway, from scenes for the next episode, you get the impression Peter has no idea where he's been or why.

How did he get back? Did The Observer have anything to do with it? Endless questions.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

I didn't get that impression -- I just thought the writers were holding back on giving him any lines until next episode. He recognises everyone, knows all about the cases they've worked on -- it's clear from that that his timeline hasn't changed. He's just been transplanted into this one. It's a classic way of building tension, along with a classic romantic storyline: boy meets girl, boy gets girl, boy is ripped away by a temporally unstable machine from prehistory, girl loses all memory that boy ever existed. You see it all the time.

Way better episode this week. i liked the Olivia-Walter dynamic that's so utterly different from what evolved in the Blueniverse with Peter around, and especially how fucked Walter is.

Having a new one of Walter's special kids show up was a nice touch.

The whole energy burning electromag thing was the effect of Peter trying to pull himself back into the timeline. I don't think it reflects him having wild cracy Dr M level powers now, tho i see why you ref him.

The reason Peter was such a focal point was because he was born in the Redniverse and lived most of his life in Blue. As far as we know he's unique in that respect. The only other person who jumped around much, William Bell, went nuclear ker'splodey as a result.

That said, I think that Peter has turned out to be more 'powerful' than the Observers expected, hence when the original Obsi didn't wipe out the traces of Peter in the timline a few eps ago, Peter was able to re-enter the timeline.

But not change it. We're still in the Yellow-verse and no one remembers him beyond Peter Blue dying of illness and Peter Red drowning when Walter tried to bring him over.

Agreed, altho it remains to be seen how much he actually remembers.

It also opens up a potentially VERY interesting conflict with the Observers.

My hope is that they don't flip a reset switch and we end up staying in the Orange universe. I'd like to see a long arc with Peter trying to reintegrate himself into a team that has no idea who he is...dunno if we're going to get that though.

Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

The latest episode.

By "glyphs" I mean the pictures you see at the commerical breaks. You did know they form a code, right?

Just watched friday's episode. Look's like we're getting that, to some extent.

Great ep Friday. Walter's reaction to Peter was unexpected.

So...new and improved shapeshifters, plus time appears to be developing a skip in it.

WTF is going on?

Great great ep friday past.

Peter's situation is so frustratingly perfect. Walter's reactions were just fucked... how does John Noble not received more accolades for this show???

The time jump was interesting... unlike what happened when Peter was all lightning cloudy which was a deja vu, this was the same events happening to Olivia slightly differently.

I liked how Olivia reached out to Lincoln and he totally shut her down. Obviously she needs to start hitting on Lincoln-Red. He'll be right into that action. Tho of course he won't say anything until she's like, about to die in childbirth or something...

Mostly great ep this past Friday Nov 11...

SPOILERS

Cool fringe-science problem. I kind of wish the mad scientist(s) had been less sympathetic, and they had ramped up the impact of his experiments with some deaths rather than a series of convenient and just barely avoided close calls. The first one with the firs and the baby were very cool tho, no pun intended.

I did think the Fibronacci sequence explanation of the effects was damn cool, and Walter's Faraday cage complete with spinal spike was a nice touch.

Peter was in fine form this ep, being helpful despite how fucked his situation is. I also liked that Olivia recognized what he was feeling.

Was it my imagination, or did the pre-commecial pics (flower, six fingered hand, sea-horse) looking like they were crumbling/rotting?

Hmmmm, I didn't pay attention to the condition of the glyphs. Fringepedia doesn't mention that issue either. Perhaps it's time for you to buy a new TV, mate :p
