If you do manage to lose to that lot down the road, it'll be a disgrace. Grimsby have better form than sp*rs atm, and Gomes will be in goal. I'm hoping for a thoroughly entertaining 5-0 to Utd, with a few of the spuds getting injured in the process. That way we can all enjoy their relegation battle even more.

Gomes is good now though. He stopped being the liability months ago.

Obviously we're still favourites mind, but judging Spurs' chances by their form is an exercise in futility, they're so inconsistent it's outrageous.

I refer you to the first goal (and indeed the entire game) tinight, Gomes was flapping like a bloody crow, then feigned injury when Shaktar scored partially due to his ineptness, despite the fact no-one touched him. And he's been second choice to Cudicini lately too, a Gomes lacking match sharpness is a frightening thought.

Fair enough, I didnae watch tonight's game, but he'd been pretty solid before Cudicini arrived. Sure, the latter is probably better, hence the droppage, but Gomes isn't the laughing stock he was at first sight.

I bet we lose. >_>

I've got this sneaking feeling we'll concede in the league on Saturday. Big Sam is a canny bastard, although so is David Moyes.

Assuming you meant United:
What a prediction, we did concede today.... *glares suspiciously* Did you fix the game?! :p

Nope, the ref fixed the game with his awful decision making. :p

How Ronaldo stayed on the pitch to score that goal...

Plus it was a definite pen, he may have gone down easy, but Rafael still made contact.

Pedersen dug his own hole there. It probably was a pen, but he played for it, despite the fact that he had a brilliant chance of scoring if he stayed on his feet, like he himself said.

Ronaldo was lucky with the kick, but how come no-one mentions the exact same thing from Dunne that he was responding to?

In other news, rather worrying for Arsenal that the man making his debut in the league after two months without playing was by far their best attacking player today.

Not unexpected to be honest, we've been terrible for some time now. After completely failing at defending for so long, of late our players seem to have decided they can only do one or the other, and have stopped scoring in order to keep clean sheets. We may have been missing Rosicky, Walcott, Cesc and Adebayor today, but quite frankly we've got such an injury prone team we should be used to it and able to cope without them. It's painfully obvious how much we miss Cesc though, if you dropped him into the team as it is atm, we would have won 2-0 tody, as he just makes that little bit of difference.

Far from being worrying, I'd say Arshavin was a major plus - if he can impact things right off whilst unused to the system (actually that might be why he looked good) and not completely match-fit, it bodes very well for the future. Of course by then half our players will have left, but still. :p :p

Of course, it's good as a sign for him personally, and he is an absolutely phenomenal player (on his day he's as good as any player in the world, I reckon), but it's not good as a sign for the team.
Fabregas gives you that killer pass which you're missing, Eduardo being back might help since he finishes better so you don't need as many, plus Arshavin can do the pass too (albeit not quite as well). I reckon you will finish fairly strongly, but it depends how close you are to Villa when you click.

Ive given up on 4th tbh, 5th is our aim now. It's been a crap season, Wenger has been proved wrong for refusing to buy, and hopefully we can learn from those mistakes, make the two or three signings needed to make the team truly competetive next season, and take Eboue outside and shoot him in the head.

Haha, good on City.
It's interesting though how much more secure a seven-point lead looks in our hands than a lot of other teams - bookies wouldn't be paying out if this was Arsenal or Liverpool, but apparently some are for us.

Speaking of seven-point leads, I reckon Madrid are going to whittle Barca's away and win in Spain.

Bellamy is a good striker, no way he should have left for 6m? ( I think) from Liverpool. If Keane is worth 20m... bellamy is worth at least 10.

Sometimes, yes. But Bellamy is a cock, so he had to go.

Today was a good day. If it wasn't for Lampard it'd be perfect.

the worst performance for a long time.

Rafa has to fucking go

why can't he understand, theres no easy games in the premiership
you put the shit players on AFTER you're winning.
fucking idiot.
I stood up and cheered when El zhar was subbed off, then promptly sat down in disgust, N'gog, that was going to save us?

what a tit.

N'gog would struggle to start in local league, hes barely reserves standard.
Theres far better plaerws in the reserves, Nemeth, hes going to be epic, will he get played?
NO
why?
Rafa's a dickhead.
hes not ireplaceable, sure he can win in europe, but we want the league.

keep parry, replace benitez, sooner rather than later

It could be worse, you could be relying on Eboue to throw on to win games.

It's shocking Villa keep dropping points and Arsenal just cant capitalise. All our good news is coming from sp*rs' piss poor year, yesterday made me cackle with glee when that rat faced bastard Bentley missed. Im hoping Boro can string some results together now to leave the spuds right in it. :p

Spurs ain't going down, but St. Totteringham's day should be early this year. Although frankly if you lot could defend and attack all in the same game it could have already happened by now...
