Well, they've just lost. Bolton can beat them, but Arsenal cant. Craziness!

And I've amassed something like 4 points from today in the fantasy footy, how awful. My players just cant score. They miss sitters, they lay on assists to people who miss sitters, they keep clean sheets til the last 30 seconds, they get booked for petulant things, and they be subs. Useless fuckers and useless fucking Torres!!!

Im going to take him out after next week, I think. Torres, Davies and Deco out, Defoe Robinho and Lampard in.

1 Chelsea 12 25 29
2 Liverpool 12 11 29
3 Arsenal 12 12 23
4 Man Utd 11 10 21
5 Aston Villa 12 4 20
6 Hull 12 -2 20
7 Everton 12 -2 18
8 Middlesbrough 12 -4 17
9 Portsmouth 12 -5 17
-----------------------------------------
10 Bolton 12 -2 14
11 Stoke 12 -6 14
12 Man City 12 4 13
13 West Ham 12 -6 13
14 Blackburn 12 -9 13
15 Tottenham 12 -3 12
16 Wigan 12 -3 12
17 Newcastle 11 -4 12
18 Sunderland 12 -8 12
19 Fulham 10 -1 11
20 West Brom 12 -11 11

That is an absolute crazy table, anyone from 10 to 20 is in a SERIOUS relegation battle at this stage of the season.

I'm glad to see Tottenham come out of the drop zone so soon, it's been a fantastic run. I'm hoping it can continue to lift them into the top six in the next six games.

Fulham have 14 points now, they just beat Newcastle.

But yes, I'd say anyone up to Everton in 7th has to be looking over their shoulders at the moment. It's ridiculously close!!

Damn... Arsenal rocks! Gotta love that reckless style but it won't last long if they keep it up. They gotta be able to kill a game off.

Was a good game, they looked some quality prospects - especially Vela, who I think is due a start with our current injuries up top. Im not sure they could translate the same success to the league week in week out, and a few of the players wont make it - Randall and Simpson are good players, but they'll end up at Bolton or Fulham and the like. I was pleased to see Djourou play well, we're crying out for a defender who's over 5 foot tall atm and can head the ball. Fabianski got better as the game went on and his confidence grew too, which was nice to see. I was expecting more from Merida though, and by no means was the performance as good as people have been raving. Yes, they had loads of good chances and nice flicks and that, but they granted Wigan a few good attempts too and gave the ball away a little cheaply trying little flicks and skills, which I suppose is just due to youtful exuberance and inexperience. After a few loan spells, alot of those players will be pressing hard for the first team.

With Almunia sometimes suspect, Gallas and Silvestre getting on in years, injuries and an uncertain partner to Cesc, Im hoping to see abit more this season from a few of them, especially Vela, who I love.

Vela, Gibbs, Wilshere and Ramsay will all make it, Im fairly sure.

Wilshere is an amazing prospect. Ramsey will make it, but whether him and Fabregas will succeed at the same club is another issue.

On a similar note, our (United) youths looking good. Rafael being fantastic, Wellbeck looking promising on his debut, and Jonny Evans already better than most defenders you could name and only 20. I can see him being our future captain, he's just unbelievable.

Seems the gooners are out of the title race.
No side has even won the title after losing 4 of the first 13 games.

Why dont they make the whole plane out of that black box stuff?

It would almost take a miracle for Arsenal to win the title now. They'd need to win the next 20 or so games to almost be guaranteed first. 9 points is a significant gap unfortunately.

Meh, from the moment Wenger decided not to replace Flamini or Gilberto, as well as refusing to buy a defender or keeper, our chances were well out the window.

Even Stevie Wonder could see we're desperate for a centre back who can head the ball and a central midfielder who can break up attacks and allow Cesc to move forward, but nothing's been done.

Barring a couple of signings in the January window, Arsenal will struggle to even make the top 4.

At least, on the side of amusement, ManUre arent much better. They've been far from convincing this season, and losing to two of your top 4 rivals so far suggests when it comes to it Chelsea will also take 3 points off them, which'll really throw a spanner in the title hopes.

Sigh, Arsenal are being shit again, 1-0 down halftime. Same old same old. I think Denilson is made of air, everytime someone runs at him they seem to go straight through him. And Bendtner is quite possibly the laziest, worst, biggest cunt ever to play the game.

Poor Arsenal fans. It looks to be over now.

Come on Villa! Beat Man Utd and go upto third :(

Was Bendtner wearing those boots as some a joke? Because someone should tell him that only works if you're a known hardman.

Weird day. Lucky not to lose to Villa, disappointed not to take advantage of the other results.

Wicked goal by Johnson in the Pompey game.

Agreed, that was a stunner. I was rather annoyed though, I was trying to watch MotD off the BBC website and the sound was 25 seconds behind the pictures. Question for you: if Giovanni's screamer that hit the corner of the goal frame had gone in, which would you have rated as better?

Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

Johnson's, probably; the pace at which he took it and without letting it bounce is the clincher, although being left-footed from a right footer also made it pretty special.
Giovanni's was good, but it's the kind of potshot that you see at least once or twice in every game, which just happened to come close to working this time - he's scored better goals already I reckon. You don't often see players even attempting takes like Johnson's.

The Johnson strike was so against the run of play as well - and even the Radio Humberside commentator applauded it - awesome - 99 times in a hundred would have been in row Z. But glad that Deano was in the right place to "score" - with the assist from Pamarot - so the Tigers season continues the points accumulation again

The Gooners, in 5th, are exactly half way on points between first place and the relegation zone... hmmm.

Spurs-Blackburn match is gonna start in 15 minutes. That means Gomes and Robinson on the same pitch. Sit back and watch the pantomime begin.

Well, only one goal in that match, so there can't have been too many howlers :D.

On reflection, I think I agree with you PG and fid. The way he was running with it at full pace and hit it on the volley was spectacular. If that's not goal of the month, I'd like to see the one that beats it.

It's very interesting that Whinger has given Fabregas the captaincy. I'm assuming that it's a ploy to keep his loyalty, because if the Gunners keep imploding (I'm not saying they will), then Cesc won't hang around beyond the end of the season, there are top top clubs out there who will pay very good money for him. And then they've lost another captain, and who's next in line? Almunia? Clichy? HA!

They may have some great talent coming through the junior set-up, but ever since they lost Viera, they've almost always been short in a battle. Unless Whinger gives them some spine quickly, they're on a bad slope. Can't say I'll cry too much about it :D
