Do the symps know the names of them?

Also, I reckon it'd be more interesting more complexly:

2 of you(1st level symps) kill the 3rd, say. Those two, then want to find and kill each other. At that point they are equal. First one to find the other wins, by killing the other, and becomes the 3rd. If one is lynched, the other gains the rank. If both find the other same night, highest rank(if they're different) wins as usual, if they're the same, dunno, id have to think. Nothing/toss-up or something.

This sounds epic fun, and it sounds awesome to play, however, if you want someone to bounce ideas off etc, I'd really like to help mod, balance, whatever.

awesome.

yes apart from the killing side of things the mechanics are a straight merc game.

perhaps it should work both ways.

leader - 1st rank will only kill other leaders and those of the second rank.

second rank - can only kill those on second rank and third rank, unless two target leader at same time.

and so on.

that means the symps can never take out the leader, but high level symps can kill an enemy finder. If you manage to kill someone from the grade above you, you ascend in rank.

symps will know their leaders. Once a leader and finder are killed the remaining symps are shared out among other factions.

Perhaps we will have rake or someone as a serial killer to add spice. once he manages to get a leader he leaves the game, after achieving his victory condition. Immune to duels, but forced away by lynch??

I reckon top symps should be able to kill leaders, but only have a couple of them at a time.

Aye, I will. I've been trying to balance each role I give by giving it a negative side effect, nothing hugely detrimental, but enough to make people think before using their vig or finder abilities.

Anyways, I need some help building the City of Saints and Madmen game. Two mods in addition to my humble self would be ideal. Preferably one that has read the book and one that has not. I'm going to introduce some relatively new concepts but want to sure it will be playable as well as fun for all involved.

it's a merc game, which is itself a 7, plus some new mechanics, so a tossup between 8 and 9
i'm going for maximums, since if you assume more of a mindfuck and get less, it's a pleasant surprise, but not the other way around.

a straight merc game is really a two or a three in my book, ment. They are easier ont he mind than most town vs evil games. as long as each team starts the same the tmdi should be quite low. i may add in wildcard though if its getting a nine.

I'm thinking, considering how many games have been affected by mass-revealing, that I might run a merc game that takes full advantage of revealing, fake-revealing and counter-revealing etc. It's going to be similar to 17 and 31, but I'm going to add a few tweaks to the hierarchy of the teams, and change roles round a bit etc.

Hmm, so who should I go to if I develop a game? I've got a decent one set-up, semi-cultish, perhaps TMDI-7 or 8 tops, maybe a tad higher because of certain mechanics tweaks.

Who runs the scheduling, etc.?

Fwiw, it's based on the Vorkosigan books by Bujold; I don't know if this theme has been done before, and hope no one else has something similar in the works.

Well Halloween is still 9 months away or so. I suppose we can have an early Halloween. Or we'll call it horror or something.

I think I might lower the TMDI down as well and make it easier and newbie friendly. Also a lot of the roles I had planned have already been tried out lately so they're not so exciting :(

Its pretty much ready to run whenever, its not complicated enough to requrie much balancing.

If Dibs doesn't want to run the dice game now, we can start this one on Friday or Monday depending on player numbers and JA being around to help out. There will be a couple new roles but nothing mindblowing.
