Just getting back to an earler question about who Skinner and Cowl meet in Thyr could it be Father Light himself? (if there is a Father Light) Osric at the time was in Kyles sword, and at the time there was no protector of Kurald Liosan at the time, L'orics familier being killed in HOC.
SPOILERS SPOILERS, Skinner

I havent read the book yet but here's one thought
About Dassem beating Kallor and Skinner without breaking a sweat have you considered that Dassem now weilds Vengeance?
I think that Rake's sword boosts Dassem's swordsmanship more than his goodlike status

A couple points in the defence of skinner..
-Big and slow fighter does not mean oaf. I get that the people who used the word may not have meant stupid, but to say he would not have realised Rhulad was different because he fights slow is ridicoulous.
-Finesse is not the same as skill allways. Just because hong-kong movie fighting looks impressive, that does not mean a samurai would allways beat an armoured knight in combat. Armour trades speed for protection, thus obviously your style changes. What's the point of trying to parry every sword-stroke when its much more effective to let the opponent's sword strike your armour while your own can hit him? The medieval knights didn't put on all that armour because they were stupid.
