Hmm thats not too bad. Looks like 41 other countries polute more than the US if you look at it based on amount of polution vs GDP.

thats just co2 pollution. there are many kinds of pollution and co2 is (imo) one of the most overrated

It's also misleading in that many of the high emitters are countries which export oil. Much of thier pollution amounts come from extracting and refining oil for other nations. Thier pollutions amounts are directly tied to energy consumption of oil importers, not thier own energy use.

the us does plenty of refining and extracting as well(and if im to understand correctly, its the only place sulfur rich venezuelaen oil can even be refined). i understand what you're saying, but to some degree refining facilities and such exist in non-major oil nations as well

Did you hear that nice little line about McCain's quip about maybe cigarettes will kill the Iranians? Maybe he is Bush version 2.0

I hadn't heard that one. Sounds like a nice guy.

I get it was a joke, but i'm worried that a potential president wouldn't understand that joking about killing people from a country with which we have an uneasy relationship, at best, is not a good idea.

McCain always looks so damn uncomfortable. A two-front war with Iran and Iraq...and the conflict with Afghanistan?!?!? Seriously? I believe somebody named Hitler made a similar mistake....turned out well for him....oh wait.

I think he's got serious anger problems from his POW days. Understandable and justified, by not a good trait for the pres.

And, to parrot something I heard this one time (and probably mangling it), McCain was a pilot, not someone used to directing others. Pilots or trained to make snap decisions within guidelines presented to them, but are not trained to create extensive far-reaching strategies for war and peace.
I love that he has military experience, but them touting that when he never had a position commanding hundreds+ of his fellows means it has no bearing on him for president.
PS - some form of civil service (military/police/cleaning/whatever) should be required 1-2 years after high school, imo.

I heard he meditates in a Darth Vader like Chamber and when on the inside his helmet comes off and you see pasta tentacles shooting out of the neck.
Has anybody else noticed that he has gone right after Hillary's anti-Obama message: "pretty words... no action." That didn't work to well with her now did it?
By the way, how is he not getting hammered for being a flip-flopper? His rush to the right and subsequent slow and methodical move back to the center has to be one of the most transparent opinion poll, party-line ass-kissing I've ever seen.

Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Well, I guess that explains why Obama supporter's aren't calling Obama a flip-flopper.
