Who would you vote? Even as a non-american; the US president has an international impact.

Maybe something will change and I will vote for one of those guys, but as of now, I don't feel either is deserving of my vote.

Let's be consistent here. If you're going to use Obama's full name, then do the same for his opponent, John Sidney McCain III

I copied the headers of wiki, blame them, i'll go and change it. Sorry for the inconsitency.
Edit: whoever neg repped me for it, I voted for him. You could have checked. Wiki is supposed to be neutral, so am I. Stop being so nauseatingly politically correct. This is twice in a week now. The first black candidate who actually makes a chance but please, hide his name.
But if the mods can still change either of the names, I don't care.

This. I would rather get out of Iraq and stay out of Iran while marginally improving the economy compared to 'staying the course' in Iraq, invading Iran, and helping the economy.

Economy, Health care, Education.
I want money spent on this and not 2 billion dollars a day on a war we never should've fought.

And that, i think, sums it all up quite well.

The one thing worse than George W Bush's politics, is being fooled into thinking McCain is cut from the same cloth. He fakes it soooo poorly.
He's a hawk. But that's where the similarities end.
I've got a hundred bucks on McCain, and I don't intend to lose it.
Xander- I will make you a bet. I bet that this time next year, we will still be in Iraq, and a exit date will not be set. I will bet you $50. Irrespective of who's in office.

the problem i have with that argument is that its very similar to the "why are we spending police resources busting potheads when they should be busting murderers" argument. its resources allocated for a specific job from the overall pool of money allocated for that specific group. you take it away the money either just doesnt get spent at all(ie it never existed) or you reallocate it somewhere else in the defense budget

I agree that those things are the most important and I do not fully support the war. But is pulling out the best thing to do right now? From what I know (which really isn't much I guess) the situation in Iraq is...sensitive. They do not have a strong enough central government to sustain themselves. If we pull out now what most likely will hapen is Iraq once again be taken over by a dictator. One who almost certainly will be freinds (if not part of) with terrorists groups, and chances are he won't be very nice to the people. However if we stay there, the situation doesn't seem like it will be fixed very soon. We would continue to lose billions of dollars and soldiers.
It seems like a lose lose situation.
...if I am sorely confused please don't hesitate to educate me. This is how I have been lead to beleive Iraq is going.
EDIT: Whoa! Why is my rep power so low now? Oh sorry, that has nothing to do with the topic really.

No, pulling out of Iraq right now is not what 'america' should do.
Ironically, I had a dream last night of what I do was I made president. It involved telling the UN to fuck off if they refuse to help the 'situation' in iraq, and making the politicians go hands-off, letting the military do what they think needs to be done.
That is what needs to happen, imo. The Pres need to tell the military leaders 'work together, get this shit straightened out.' and that the other politicians will not bother them anymore (congress, senate, whatever).
And of course, avoiding the whole Invasion of Iran is a good reason to not vote for McCain in and of itself, imo.

I hope McBush doesn't win, but if he does, would you care to wager on whether or not he's stupid enough?

I have seen an interview of McCain where he said both
1) Something needs to be done about Iran
and
2) He ridiculed Obama for wanting to 'talk' to the Iranian leaders.
He is also supporting a bill to declare the Iranian Home Defense Forces (loose translation) terrorists.
What the hell do you think he is going to do, send them bundles of lolipops and ask them gently to be nice?
I wish I could find the Daily Show where they had a clip of him saying he would 'not be against an invasion of Iran if the situation warranted it.' Do you think, in his mind, their entire military being declared terrorists would be a situation that warrants invasion?
I also disagree with the people (like you seem to be doing) that claim McCain is just giving lip service to the Conservs and will be his 'true self' if he gets elected.

See picture.
And look up his voting record (before 2006 of course). Don't let yourself be told who McCain or anybody else is, look at their records yourself. Especially by me.

Word. Now those on the left need to keep the pressure on Obama so that he doesn't move too far over to the right and become a pony Clinton-like "moderate."

No. Rep power is mostly garnered from reputation points, which are given everywhere, though post count and join date have a bit to do with it. Posts count everywhere except for the Inn and the Mafia board, I think. But you can get rep anywhere, and you get one point of rep power for every 1000 reputation points you earn. It was 100 until Hetan changed it the other day. That's why our rep powers plummeted.
