Why would he be honourable?

We keep forgetting, because everyone likes him, that Rake is a ruthless bastard.

Yeah but lately he has been shown to have some sort of moral's I dont think that strictly caution stayed his hand when he was about to mindread Silverfox.
Im fairly sure there is Arrogance there in his head he was just beginning to respect WJ and Brood was his friend or companion more or less and didn't want to cross swords with either. So who is to say he wouldn't get arrogant in the fight against Cot and think he can do it with sword and sorcery alone?

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Which you did quite thoroughly I thank you because I do not want to get too delusional as to how the rest of the story shapes up. Although whilst I will be cheering when it all boils down to a very large royal rumble in The Crippled God, nothing but a big bloodbath with all the ascendants, gods and humans fighting on Drift Avalii in a MK style tournament you will all be throwing your books across the room shouting, "What the FUCK, NO!!!!"

Cotillion is almost certainly of high mage ability in certain narrow and sharp applications of magic. A lot of people tend to forget this.
I can't say anything but RotCG will give you some more information about Cot's abilities.

Rake vs Cotillion would be interesting, I'd laugh if it happened.

Morals fly out the window when you're in a fight like that ;) Win at all costs is more the outlook.

Agreed. I doubt (and hope not) that any of these will happen. Though I guess with Karsa you never know who he might want to fight in the future. Especially since he has that army of his starting to form...
But Silchas is not at all a likely candidate. Why would he have reason to afront Karsa and his plans?

Because Ruin might possibly be the one person with a greater chip on his shoulder than Karsa?

The answer (the ONLY answer, Apt) is Wolverine.

- Abyss, on principal.

I second that! It's kinda scary that as bad ass as Iron Bars was...he wasn't the best....and the best of the Avowed lost to Dassem.....freaky.

I want to see a flashback of Rake versus Osseric that actually shows them arguing and fighting...not just mentioning it off screen ;)

From what I remember Wolverine never did win a fight for leader of the X-Men. But I will consult said X-perts on that.

Though this is fan fiction territory there is nothing wrong with it IMO. Nor do I fell there is anything inherently wrong in belittling it whenever it crops up.
What I do not know fills many more volumes than what I do know.

The Rope is good enough to sneak up on Rake's 2nd-in-command assassin-mage and knock her out / put a dagger to her throat. We don't know how much better Rake is than Serrat (I think that's her name), but still...

No pearl took them as trophies and they stopped him entering his warren but the Apsalar took them back i think.

Also some of these are quite obviosly unbalanced such as Rake vs Dancer. Completre whitewash.

Reall, if said QB vs three ascendant elient soletaken two years ago, honestly what would you have answered?Or QB vs SR+ sapper with crossbow and cusser.

I personally would have answered whitewash and not for QB

I'm taking no ones power for granted regardless of appearances.
