Have my thanks as well, Dancer. Good review without any spoilers
Am not sure though if the review made waiting for the book even worse or not... when Inoticed that some people already received their LE version of the book, I almost ran home to check my mail, but until now I was sorely disappointed... perhaps tonight *crosses fingers*

No offence to Pat, but his review was quite spoilerific, as it spelled out several storylines in great depth. Dancer's was more restrained.

Adam, as was the case with the Reaper's Gale review last year, this was just an enumeration of the main storylines, half of which you find on the back cover blurb of the ARC.
Believe me, what you have in there doesn't even scratch the surface of what's in the book!

Pat - We know that the next book in your Malazan sequence will have to do with the Korelri campaign. Greymane, although we've never seen the character yet, has already intrigued a multitude of fans. Are you eager to tackle that next project? Does the book have a tentative working title?
ICE - I am very eager. If it proves to be as much fun as RETURN then I’ll certainly get my entertainment dollar out of it. For this one I’m having difficulty in settling on a title. So far I know the world has a style of using “of” or a possessive “’s” in the title and I may be obliged to follow along with that but right now I’m thinking of perhaps STONEWIELDER as a working title – it doesn’t show up on Amazon as a title yet. But it maybe too out of style for the world. I may have to go with a phrase. Anyway, yes, it would deal with the Malazan Korel campaign and, yes, Greymane (who we see in RETURN) will feature prominently.

With Return of the Crimson Guard, Esslemont establishes once and for all that he is for real! Roll on Stonewielder!
So... knowing now that ICE's next is dealing with Korel, and knowing from Chapter 1 of RoTCG that Greymane is alive, at large, and probably sees lots of action in RoTCG...
I'm a little disappointed that ICE is primarily tying up the loose ends on the Imperial storylines - NoK being a prequel, and both RoTCG and Stonewielder are like tangents/ sequels to the Imperial plot threads in the main sequence - rather than moving to truly fresh territory.
Personally I'd love to read about Assail ASAP... ETA: don't-a get me wrongo - I loved NoK and am chomping on the bit impatiently as I wait for RoTCG... but still...
Thoughts?

There is a little bit of info about Assail in RotCG, but nothing much. Like everyone, I'm dying to read a book about it!

If I could ask a question to all who've read the book - does prince K'azz appear in it? Do we get more insight on his persona, his history and the beginning of the Guard? Up until now, we're only meeting other Avowed and according to Pat's review Skinner is about to take control of all the currents of this Diaspora, so naturally a question arises - why does K'azz have to be so mysterious? Why does Skinner seem more revered than him?
So do we get any insight on this?
p.p. with no major spoilers, of course

There's no way to talk about K'azz without major spoilers, which is why you haven't seen anything about him in these threads. . .

Password. Not all of us are as blessed as you Pat
I was seriously considering taking it into a copy shop and getting it printed out as reading the thing on a screen did not appeal. Then the cost of printing 750 pages came through and I thought I'd hardcore it on the screen after all
