He might've known about the Andii in Bluerose, but I doubt he'd met a Liosan.

So the same thing may have happened but with the warlock king in Rhulad place. Some might say that that could have been worse. Though his knowledge of KE may have taken them in a different direction i.e. not invaded Lether
The idea of Hannan Mosag was to use the sword and CG's power to whup the Letherri so hard, they wouldn't even DARE to think of invadind the Edur.
He was stil an isolationist, he wanted to preserve the Edur by shielding them from the world with CG's power.

when you said earlier that anddi may try to killt he other edur becuase they are impure thats quite subjective. liason is pure light and shadow could be what you call a pure mutt, a perfect balance of the two

Exactly bhok'arala. The Edur are equal parts Light and Dark. Children of Shadow- after all, you need both light and dark to make shadows. And their skin colour (grey) is in-between. The Andii (dark skin) and the Liosan (white skin) make sense too.

No no, what I said was that the Andii would be disinterested. Remember half of them live deep in some mountain range, happily rotting away, or they did until they were massacred by the Letherii in RG. The other half drift about flying from place to place in Moonspawn. Remember Rake saying they are bored with life and all his crusades are merely to try and give them a purpose (Gardens of the Moon when he speaking to Baruk). The Liosan view the Edur as an abomination, hence impure, because they think the Edur contain the worst of both Mother Dark and Father Light. I seem to remember them discussing this amongst themselves when they fight Onrack and Trull

No, the Liosan view the Andii as an abomination, as they (the Andii) have nothing of Father Light in them. They were willing to take on Trull as a servant/slave as he had something of FL inside, as do the other Edur.

There is still too much we don't know about the history of the Tiste people. While the Andii have been painted as tragic and apathetic....the Edur barbaric and the Liosan arrogant and isolationist...obviously there is more to the story.
I want to know more about the Liosan. How many times did they try to come to Burn? We know the Forkrul Assail fought them in the Just Wars (took place on Lether continent and maybe other places). Yet, did they ever establish any lasting colony/city? Are there little pockets of their people, maybe mixed bloods, that are still living on Burn? Is there a big family of royal Liosan (like the Andii and Edur) that we don't know about? So many questions!

I just wonder at how much of that we'll actually find out before everything is said and done. I can imagine SE going back and writing a novella about it later.

So last night I was walking downtown for some pizza at like 1am with some friends of mine,
and someone said, "I'm so hungry I could eat a whole pizza."
I said, "I bet I could eat 100 pizzas," and no one understood me. I was sad.

Well it's nice not to know EVERYTHING. The Liosan seem to be ICE's territory...if anything. We've only seen a little from SE about them...and with only 3 books remaining in his main arcs...it seems unlikely we're going to get tons of Liosan material from SE. So if we do learn...it'll most likely be ICE or nothing.

I am pretty sure I read somewhere on these boards that such a thing as an encyclopedia was in the works. Is that true? I was awfully let down by the Jordan encyclopedia although there was some nuggets to chew on.
Has SE said if he was going to stay in this universe he created after the series? I would love to see some finalized "timelines" and more about the various and myriad societies than we will probably get through the reading of the books.
Sincerely

I mean it kills the mysterious element in MBotF if we know EVERYTHING
Jordan's encyclopedia blew because it came out HALFWAY through the DAMN SERIES. Still don't know why he did that...oh wait...it was a BLATANT CASH GRAB...I'm still pissed about that...and the horrible artwork within it....*shudders*
SE has stated a Malazica Encyclopedia is comig after he's done...lets keep our fingers crossed.

According to an Edur legend, Father Shadow imprisoned Brother Light in the moon. Now, correct me if Im wrong, but Osseric is still alive and moving. So that would suggest there was another Champion Of Light once upon a time, which would give evidence to the possibility that once upon a time, there was more than one leader of the Liosan. Royal Family? Maybe so.
And I hear that SE is considering writing an Anomander Rake prequel after the MBotF, so perhaps we will see the Liosan there.

Actually, I don't know about what happens in RCG but, in the MBotF storyline Osserc has been gone for a long time, seeminly lost.
For all we know, the Osserc L'oric meets in the memorywarren, might aswell be an old memory aswell.

But remember, Osseric was alive when Scabby was kicked crapless, in Midnight Tides. Suggesting that the Brother Light referred to was not Osric.

Hmmm perhaps so... I hadnt read the prologue before this, thanks for notifying me it was there lol. I certainly cant see Osric trying to destroy an Azath.

Prehaps, but SE doesn't really go in for the whole chain of identical names thing for relatives. It just seems way too much of a coincidence that Liossercal has both his name and his race in.
