Saw him play for CSKA Moscow a bit in the UEFA cup, he looked very handy. Not £19million handy, but not bad...

yea 19 mill does seem a bit much for some one who is not a massive name but then transfers in general are getting silly.

The French have got to be off their bloody rockers. He's one of the worst managers around, how you can take a nation with footballers like France have and mess up so badly is almost McLaren-esque.

Crouch to Pompey finally sounds like a done deal. I think Defoe and Crouch could make a decent strike partnership, given enough time... who knows.

Anyway, I'm happy because I was worried about this Crouch+Cash for Keane rumour which was hanging around.

yea but now it might just be money for kean! harry seemed to get the best out of crouch when at southhamton(think it was them) so you never now. not heard much on berbotov recently, thought he would be gone by now, losing kean and berbotov would be a big big blow.

So, Sidwell to Villa, looks like Barry's off soon then. Im unsure about Sidwell, he'll have to spend half the season re-learning how to play football, as his first instinct will be to immediately head for the bench and watch.

I doubt they'd do a straight money swap. Benitez is far too wayward with his valuations of players.

Redknapp actually sold Crouch within two days of taking over at Pompey the first time, and then sold him again six months after taking over Southampton, so I'm not sure they have the best record together;)

All quiet on the Berbatov front for now... but it won't last, I doubt.

Aparently Spurs' new target winger is Juan Arango - anyone heard of him?

I've never liked/rated Crouch, never thought he was productive enough for us (and he's abysmal in the air despite being 8 foot tall). Barry will fit very well into Rafa's team, I reckon, and may even challenge Gerard for the captain's armband. He's a natural leader. I'm very excited :p

Would love to see either Keane or Villa arrive at Anfield. Would have to plump for Keane as a proven goal scorer and maker in the Premiership, though. I have a feeling he and Torres would link well, and there have been those questions over Torres and Villa playing together that I don't think the Euros completely laid to rest.
It is perfectly monstrous the way people go about nowadays saying things against one, behind one's back, that are absolutely and entirely true.

Hmm, maybe, but it depends on the system they play. Spain tend to hang back a bit from their strikers, whereas with players like Gerrard, Babel etc, Liverpool would be more likely to play close behind them, which would help the partnership I imagine.

I think Keane would be a great foil for someone like Torres. He has always been at his best as a deeper lying striker, since he really isn't clinical enough as the front line striker.

When he first came through at Wolves and Coventry, he always looked better playing behind a big man that led the line (ditto with Berbatov at Spurs). I thought he might have been better becoming an attacking midfielder back then. He's very creative, pretty tough, but doesn't really have the blistering speed to run away from people. I'm a big fan of his, since he always gives you total commitment and has plenty of quality. If that moany git Berbatov will stick around though, I think it would be better for Keane to have some stability and stay with Spurs for a few more years. But Liverpool does look like a good fall back option.

As for other transfers, will these stupid clubs hurry up and start the merry go round. I'm waiting for any of Adebayor, Eto, Villa, Drogba, Ronaldo and the other big names to finally move. Cos once that happens, it will be mayhem for a few weeks. Especially since all the big clubs are linked to the same players, you can't really tell who is going to go where.

I think Arsenal should take the money for Adebayor and get rid of him, and that will start the ball rolling.

Sidwell has finally signed a three year deal at Villa. Decent signing, provided he still remembers how to play football. He's an object lesson as to why players shouldn't go to Chelsea just because they had one good season and the big guns come looking.

Wow, it seems some bloke called Samir Nasri has just signed for Arsenal. That was unexpected, a total one out of nowhere, deep inside left field that one.

We're trying to sign Luis Garcia from Espanyol, apparently. And there was me thinking he played for Liverpool.

I heard that one too Brood, although i also heard that you Spurs approached Barnet for half their team in a bid to improve.

As an aside :p Liverpool are after Keane arnt they? I prefer if they won the race for Villa then they would have Torres and Villa up front and that would be special.
"I think i was a bad person before. Before this time. I do not try to be good now but i am not bad. Perhaps if i try harder i may get a better hand dealt next time? But surely that makes it pointless? Perhaps i am good. Just good at being pointless. But that would make me bad. Bad at having a point. Ah…. I see now. I was nothing before, I am nothing now. I am bad purely because im pointless. "

LIES!!!

Barnet may have lost several first team players, but not to the scum down the road, that's for sure. It's bastard Plymouth Argyle I blame. But it's ok, as a replacement for a 250k winger, Barnet have signed a striker from Bradford reserves on a free! Yays!:p:p

Salisbury signed someone from Dagenham. Exciting times for the local clubs, we must really going somewhere now!
