The 'trailer' on youtube...ST's Dal Honese; I don't quite think that Christopher Lee fits the description of a Dal Honese.
In my opinion, for a film to really work the cast would have to be mainly obscure and little-known actors in order to bring out the best in the characters. I feel that if you have a cast of massively famous celebrities -- let's take Vigo Mortensen playing Paran, for example -- when he's on-screen you'll see him as Vigo Mortensen (and the numerous other characters he's played) rather than seeing solely Paran, if you get what I mean.
What I'm saying is that with a cast of really well-known actors, you see the celebrity rather than the character they're playing.
WHATEVER...someone else must know what I'm talking about and agree with me!

The love I bear thee can afford no better term than this: thou art a villain.

I agree but its kind of hard to have thread about obscure actors and actress plus this is all for fun and thought of these big names playing these characters is all part of the fun

here's a pretty good casting vid on youtube. It needs to be revised though.

I got as far as "directed by Mel Gibson" and couldn't keep watching.
that ignorant cock made Braveheart, which I intensely dislike. Stupid god damn film.

I was thinking about this as I read Deadhouse Gates. A few really popped out at me:
Whiskeyjack - Sean Bean
Quick Ben - Don Cheedle
Duiker - Patrick Stewart

I know it would never happen but if they were to make Movie(s) about SE writings who would you want cast as our favorite characters
example
The Rock as Trotts
(he wouldnt talk much)
who would you pick to be QuickBen, Kalam, Karsa, Whiskeyjack, Fiddler, Apsalar and all the others?

Karsa Orlong - Jason Momoa
I kind of picture him in that role after seing him as Conan and Khal Drogo

This will not be good. There is no way a movie could capture how awesome this series is. You'd have to take it with a pinch of salt.

Im pretty sure there'd be some minor problems if they had Jack Nicholson to play ST, they'd have to black him up for a start, which wouldnt go down too well. This is Malazan Book of the Fallen, not Minstrel Book of the Fallen.
Eddie Murphy as ShadowThrone! : )

Can't imagine a film can do the series justice. Only way i can see MBotF visualised is hrough anime, to be honest. Even though I'm personally not a fan of that genre. But scenes such as Ormulogun, gumble and Itkovian, or Tehol and Ublala and the chickens, just shout anime.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.
