I loved Tapping on SG-1 but Sam was not right for Atlantis. They should have gone further with her driving Rodney nuts; the dynamic between those two was always entertaining. Woosley is indeed a turd but that should mix things up. I miss Weir though. I also miss those perky girls of hers...

well, atlantis has been cancelled, annoyingly.
i didn't like the first series much, but got into series 2 onwards.

Damn them for cancelling it!! I haven't started watching season 5 yet cos I am caching Lucy up with the other season before I start "acquiring" it I am sceptical about Stargate Universe - seems like they should let it go to me. Saying that I am sure I will be watching it

I have been watching Season 5 and is has been quite good. I think the SciFi channel is again a bunch of jerks for cancelling a good show. They only like to keep the crappy ones for reasons unknown. But at least they are going to do a few Atlantis movies in early 2009! So we'll get a few more stories. The Stargate SG1 movies did ok, so guess that is where they want to head to make more money.
I've heard Stargate Universe is going to be targeted to a younger audience, so whether it will be worth watching or not is up in the air.

I am...appalled. It's...appalling.
I'll give Universe a go, but Im not sure it sounds that great a premise, and if it is indeed aimed more at kids then I'll be pissed.
First SG1, then Atlantis?! What will they cancel next? Sex? Actually, I should keep the sci-fi channel away from my gf, they might give her ideas she already seems keen on.

That did the opposite of making my day.
Oh well...I was hoping they'd do one more and try to wrap it up...but like so many sci fi channel shows we'll have to settle for a stupid 2 hour plot consolidation in movie form.
What is this SG Universe all about? I haven't heard much about it

I;ve just started watching season 5 and cannot believe they're cancelling it. The show has so much potential! I know they'll just do an Ori style ending and kill off all the badguys in one fell swoop like in the Ark of Truth, but to be quite frank, that's just a bit of a let down. I'm hugely disappointed.
