Tehol (again)
Also, Kruppe, Pust.... any of the comedy relief characters
If a death is meaningful, I won't feel bad for it.
And even though I fully expect it, Toc's next death will probably stil be tragic...

Apsalar would be tragic. First character in the series who gets screwed and she's never recovered or really even established her own identity.
As for the Errant, I'm guessing the part of DOD that wraps up Lether will cover his death. Although it would be nice to see the Hounds tear him apart, I guess Mael/Brys/Tehol will cook something fatal up.

Who of the 'good guys' doesn't? It's interesting how Toc as a character has changed - he was one of my absolute favorites in GotM - and just look where he is now.

The probability of playing "last man standing" seems significantly higher in this series so one expects at least 2 tragic deaths per book - and Laseen persistently avoids it...assuming she actually exists

??? of course she exists. have you not read GotM prologue, or DG, or tBH?
plus, we'll see much more of her in RotCG...

Hmm about the Guardian of the Bridge it seemed really huge when it was attacking the the carriage in the warren.
I didn't get that from the creature Karsa chased. I didn't even make a connection between the two till this thread.

I know, they seem to not mesh too well, but the whole appearing out of nowhere, ill-suited to the climate and with emphasis on the being scaled all over suggests that they're the same creature, though. Maybe it's a tBHism? Kind of like in MoI when Dujek throws his gauntlets (plural) against the tent wall...
