somehow i think a KCCM perspective would be like nothing we've ever expected. probably like one or two words sentences, closer to greyfrogs style of dialogue perhaps?

Sag' churok: "red mask. mother scaled. fight good. hurt me. follow him. him good."

until "red mask. insane. done using. kill. with pleasure."

the KCCM at least cuz they got that whole hive mind thing goin on. for the nah'ruk i just take it as a given that in order to create flying mountains you would have to think in some pretty comprehensive language.

reptillian astrophysicists and shit

I would love it if the internal monologue of the KCCM were like that of an 18th century upperclass britt...

"I say GRRRAOK shall we dispense with these civilitees and let these young wippersnappers have a good thrashing?"
"Yes, indeed, HURQXXC, these sassy pinky meats are being quite difficult."
"let us drink our tea and be done with this." *Sips the rest of his tea and crumpets*
*KCCM Kellhunters stomp out of the Panion keep and start cutting up Onearms Host*

Why are we suddenly interested in possible KCCM personalities?

Can someone paint me a picture of what the KCCM look like? Just can't get it established. yeah, I've got the blades, scales, talons, etc. but the head I haven't figured out.

I just picture them like big raptors with sword arms.

Apparently they have some kind of helmet around their head. I don't remember if it's made out of bone or metal. They might also have armor on other parts of the body...

except that all the KC in MoI were undead, so their inner monologues were more likely to run along these lines...

"Brainnzzzzzzzz.... uh... i mean... killlllll...."

- Abyss, notes jumbo velociraptors with sword hands is awesome, but UNDEAD velociraptors with sword hands is pure unmitigated WIN...
(and before anyone feels the need to point it out, yes, yes, i know the live ones are more powerful than the dead ones...)

I've always wondered who puts the armor on if their hands are sword blades.

Imagine if we'd never gotten any of the insider scoop on the T'lan, or on the Jhagut, or some of the Tiste -- they'd probably seem like murderous, aloof, genocidal, xenophobic dicks, just like the KCCM. Although, honestly, as a race, I really hate the T'lan. Those guys are jerks.

Maybe the KCCM are too culturally/racially immature to grow beyond that, but they've been around for a while, maybe they've had enough time to mellow from how they used to be, like Draconus and most of the Elder entities, this run-on thought is getting really long, needs more commas, there, all done.

Only the Kell Hunters have swords for arms -- other variants probably have marginally functional vestigial hands.

Never seen it. Why?

The real answer: KC drones who have hands.

The funny answer: They put on their own. Which is a significant contributive factor in their eventual extinction.

well if a matron could give sword hands to a reptile, couldn she give it metal armor too? she could create raptor robots if she knew about robotics

It would make sense, SE and ICE wrote a bunch of Dinobot fanfics when they were kids. The Matrons are probably based on SE's sister's cat, Lucy.

Well it could be true.

T'lan Imass are undead, too., but they aren't quite this stupid. And KCCM are an older, more advanced race.

In BH KCCM heads are described as being crocodilian. Big teeth in a long snout.

References to birds happen alot- in RG in the little pieces at chapter starts, some Letherii come across a KCCM corpse and decribe it as birdlike, and a few other times- I think raptor style shape when I think of them. Big stong legs, leaning forward, tail for balance, etc- it's like a velociraptor with metal arms.

...and SE said in some interview that the idea for dinosaurs on Wu came from ICE, so it would make sense if they were raptor-like.

Just re-reading HoC (for the 10th time). When Karsa leaves his village at the start, the faces on the rock talk about Barioth's "girl-child" inside Dayliss. One of them mentions the child will neither be a girl nor a child. Think this "child" might be an important character...
