Are we all significantly excited about the season finale this Saturday?

Nicely done. My only issue is the fact that to wrangle the Daleks back in will take more and more far-fetched storylines. I liked the fact that it was all down to a clever little twist and indeed some of the links and fore-tellings were good. Bit disappointed at the throw-away use of the Shadow Proclamation (from last week). Otherwise a well done ending to what has been at times a very good series.

@ Coco: I was far too horrified by Martha's absolutely appalling German accent to notice the Daleks at that point. Truly shocking.

Overall, I thought it was good, but a bit too drawn out at the end - it just seemed to go on and on. Mind you, shitty internet connection didnt help, stopping iplayer every now and then (TV broke so couldnt watch it, joy). I was hoping Rose would come back for good too, but I spose you cant have everything. Anyone reckoning Alex Kingston might appear soon in an assistant role?

I don't think you can write any of the assistants off, because it just so easy for them to fit a script around bringing any of them back again, like they did in this one.

With time travel and dimension jumping practically anything is possible.

I watched the whole series with my sons, them being 9 and 13 and me being a lot older - its hard to say who likes it more. I can't remember a t.v series that rivals it.

Where do I start?

The Daleks speaking German was both absolutely hilarious and utterly genius at one and the same time; it made me giggle like a four year old. I may have to start shouting "Exterminieren!!" at my staff when they get out of line...

And the business with Donna was also fantastic - heartbreaking stuff as Donna has been my favourite companion (as a character that is; although there is something to be said for a red haired woman...) of the nu-Who era.

The rest was a bit of a mess; and giving Rose her very own, half-human pet Doctor, who she can now have babies with was a bit of fanwankery too far if you ask me.
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. I've often thought that Hitler in many of his psycotic rants sounded much like a Dalek. I thought that part was funny - although that leads me to believe that Time Lords and Daleks traditionally speak English, as that is how they speak to each other.

I'd argue that presumably because Martha was away from the TARDIS translation effect she's hearing what the Daleks say, as they really sound - And if you want German people to understand that you're going to exterminate them, you might as well tell them in German...

Any other time we've heard aliens speak, the TARDIS has been nearby and it's been via the translator; so of course we hear them in English!

Removes geek hat....

Note: I don't actually own one of these. Honest.

It's a geek t-shirt, I'll have you know. And, whilst I do realise the importance of accessorising, in this case I haven't.
