I think it must be Toc, too. Nice reversal, when Toc the Dead meets Tool the Living.

Well not to be to picky but if you look closely enough you will notice that there is no girth strap and no saddle horn. His feet are resting in a leather strap that is designed for bareback ridding and that is simply to keep your weight off of your lower back. And the final proof that it is Toc, if you look closely at the face you will notice that you see the bottom of a scar on the right side of his face(look where the shadow of his cloak ends midway down his face).

Wow that's observant. I just spent about 5 minutes trying to discern if he was missing an eye under the shadow of the hood.
Awesome cover, undoubtedly Toc on the most malnutritious looking horse I ever did see. Looking forward to seeing him again and his inevitable next death and ressurection.

Wow, I must have bad eyes - I can't see the scar, but I do agree that it is Toc. There are so many similarities, and the desiccated horse clearly suggests a connection with Hood.

I bet it's Redmask's cousin, Whitemask. Or Squint.

Also, that's a load of bull! If you look even closer, you'll see there's a pommel sticking up fairly high between the rider's legs, not to mention that you can see the tail end of a saddle coming out from behind the shield on the right. So either that horse has got one hell of a tumor, or there's a saddle on him!
I still think it's Toc though!

I thimk what you are seeing is his right hand holding the reins, as for what appears as a saddle is the trailing end of his cloak.

I agree with Smashy, I can't see any parts of a saddle at all, just an ambiguous area where his hands are holding the reins.

By far the best cover of the "new style". It's just perfect. Can't WAAAAAIT to bite in the meat of it
I agree
But Reapers gale was pretty bad ass too.
As far as the books name being connected best to the cover art would be TtH for obvious reasons.

Cover's a bit . . . dull in excitement. Still, it's ok.
Toc, eh? Face is a bit vague . . . can you see the one eye?

Did they switch the US covers to the UK ones? I saw GotM and NoK trade paperbacks at two bookstores with the UK art. And they were published by Tor so they're not imports. I really hate when they do that with series, especially since SE himself once said that a good reason to get into the series is that when all ten are out, they'll look awesome on a bookshelf.

Is there anywhere to see both the UK and US covers? I didn't realize that they used different cover art. Thats a little strange.
What, is the UK art not good enough/too good for the US?

You obviously haven't seen the US art if you think there's any possibility that it's not good enough
As for where to see it-try just typing in the name of the book into Google images?

I think, Toc got a second chance. I mean, Hood stopped with his buisness. Toc has gone on in serving the wolves of winter, probably as the herald of WAR. Suits with the armour and stuff.

IHMY, that makes sense, as they are the heads of High House War, and Toc is in their service.

Is that the CG's sword? It looks awfully similar to the one Rhulad is holding on the cover of RG. The handle, pommel and guard look exactly the same.

The CG's sword was broken by Withal at the end of RG if I'm not mistaken, so I don't see how toc or whoever that is can be wielding it...
