Well, in case you're new and didnt know, it is my duty to create an anime thread every couple of months. If you see any other anime threads please ignore them. They are not official.

Anyway, anyone see any good animes recently?

I watched the first 4 epiodes of samurai champloo, which is from the same director as cowboy bebop and is almost as good, too.

Also, i found out that ghost in the shell 2 has been released in the UK last friday but none of the cinemas here seem to be showing it. ;)

Anyone see the new miyazaki movie?

I saw Neon Genesis Evangelion - Death And Rebirth 2 weeks ago, which was very good. Although I found a little hard going because I hadn't seen the tv series before watching this. So would recomend seeing it although watch the tv series before this as you shall find it alot more enjoyable.

Saw Hellsing a while ago, and it ruled.

Speaking of the devil, I'm going to an animé convention in Uppsala, Sweden tomorrow. Any good DVDs I should look for?

o/ Gonna have to get that. The series is one of my favourite animated shows ever. Shame I lost all the episodes after I had to get a new Hard Drive. ;) Just gonna have to fork out some dough and buy em now I guess. . .

I watched neon genesis but the ending just did not make too much sense I found. I still mourn the loss of the sci fi channel and the accasional goodie it through out between star trek re runs

Well, as you bring forth this thread every now and then, I feel it is my duty to bring forth the same answer as I always do when I notice these.. Hellsing and Serial Experiment Lain are the two greatest anime series I have ever had the pleasure of watching. Nothing can match them.

nice list apsalar

favourite anime? hmmm cowboy bebop, or maybe outlaw star, or evangelion or trigun ;) its too hard to decide

just finished: fmp fumoffu and fmp the 2nd raid, also gundam seed destiny

currently watching: yakitate japan, gunXsword, blood, bleach

as for free anime? anything that hasent been released wherever you are can be fansubbed and distributed legally.

mod edit: but torrents are still very often used for illegal purposes. no links please

I saw a promo for Blood. Looked good. I just borrow from friends who have box sets and burned copies. Fave anime? Tsubasa atm. It's fun trying to guess which CLAMP chars will show up.

Anime, hm?!

Well, of the top of my head:

Visions of Escaflowne
Record of Lodoss War (both the OVA and the chronicles of the heroic knight)
X TV Series (way better than the movie!)
Scrapped Princess
Hack Sign
Berserk
Fushigi Yuugi (Mysterious Play)
Samurai Deeper Kyo
Gilgamesh

and my all time favourite: Juuni Kokki (Twelve Kindgoms)

I'm sure I have forgotten many other good ones...but ah well ;-)

ghost in the shell: stand alone complex second season is great imo, also watching Bleach, which is decent and something to take my mind off the horrible Naruto fillers

also, I'm pretty sure fansubbing is illegal wether it's been licensed or not, it's just that the japanese studios doesn't crack down on it, only those who license it abroad.

Is Fist of the North Star the one where he can punch people and with one hit, their heads explode? I liked that one!
