These individuals are the ten I most want to see intact after Book 10.
No particular order
1)Paran
2)Fiddler
3)QB
4)Apsalar
5)Shadowthrone
6)Iron Bars
7)Stormy
8)Traveller
9)Leoman
10)Duiker
Alternates--Sinn, Silverfox, Spite, Icarium, Mappo
Single character I'd most like to know more about
**Queen of Dreams** I know she was a sorceress once upon a time, ascended before or after the last Chaining and seems to be working behind the scenes to thwart the CG.
Honorable mention--Ereko
Top 5 mysteries/races/subplots I want resolved or more information on
1)Paran's bargain with Hood--what was promised?
2)The Liosan
3)KCCM
4)the uber humans on Assail killing the Imass--who are they and how're they doing it?
5)who killed Sorrit?
Honorable mention--the Fork'rul, the nameless ones and Azath

I don't have ten, but here's a few:
1) Kallor
Actually there's only one but anyway. Hopefully he doesn't go down like a punk, but in a blaze of glory, if it comes to that.

I don't think Fid and Quick are gonna make it, just a hunch (and it saddens me). I do, however, see them causing a horrible ruckus and going down in a way that the entire world sheds a tear.

So last night I was walking downtown for some pizza at like 1am with some friends of mine,
and someone said, "I'm so hungry I could eat a whole pizza."
I said, "I bet I could eat 100 pizzas," and no one understood me. I was sad.

In the end, there will probably be only Treach singing Survivor's "The Eye Of The Tiger" (And the Crippled God, who's finally found out he's the guy from the music video of Babylon Zoo's "Spaceman").
Sorry, but wasn't this thread about Survivor...

^Seems like it.
Although I'd be more inclined to think that Rake would just walk away and wash his hands of the whole mess.

nah. Can't see it. Rake is the epitome of the doomed hero. He's probably going to die in an even more pointless and sudden manner than Trull.
as to who i'd like to see standing?
frankly, nobody.
be a tremendous ending if everyone died.
Seriously. imagine the emotional impact. page after page of characters dying.

Hah, I want YOU to write the next great fantasy series. Not a dry eye in the forum. Nobody could type posts expressing their sorrow cuz their vision would be so tear blurred.

If Rake makes it through TtH I think he'll make it through the last two. Having said that I don't like his chances, which is going to make me really sad. I want cutter and apsalar to make it through and reunite since SE owes us one for Trull and Seren.

If you kill too many people the effect wears off, you need to tactically pick them off for the greatest effect.
The characters I want to survive are:
In terms of subplots I want to know what Shadowthrone and Cotillion are upto, I'm interested in other things but not nearly as much.
The characters I want to survive are:
- Adjutant Stormy
- Kallor
- Greymane
- The Crippled God
- Cotillion
- Traveller
- Crokus (if he veers back, Cutter stinks)
- Braven Tooth
- Icarium AND
- Mappo (together)

Oh look, it's the exact same thread!
http://malazanworld....read.php?t=9422
I expect Paran, Karsa and Quick Ben to make it to book ten because they are central characters that have been given a substantial role to play.
That said, by the time we reach book ten I think no one is safe. Anyone and everyone could be dead when we turn the last page.
I hope cirkelbreaker makes it

I think not, that thread was who do we think will make it, this thread is who do we want to make it. That being said we could of perhaps used the other thread.

I'll try and do a better search next time. I'm fairly new and these are just the people I want to have a long happy ascension.
And while I'm on it, I'm gonna add Dunsparrow and say I hope Dassem or the 2nd kills Hood. I'm pretty sick of him...

And I'll go and make a thread about who might not make it if Dragnipur is broken...
@Kimloc: Don't worry, there was a difference between the two threads and you did actually add a new aspect to it too. I think you did the right thing personally.

How about everyone dies and then:
[Burn wakes up]
Burn: "Gee, nobody woke me up violently, I guess civilization and mortals did great while I was asleep!"
[Burn sees the world strewn with corpses and ruins]
[Burn rolls eyes, then goes back to bed]

While apt is right, this is definetly the same thread again, doesn't make it a bad thing at all.
Is it that much of a crime to let new posters discuss something everyone else discussed a while ago? of course it isn't, if you don't want to talk about this stuff again, simply pass the thread by, if however your opinion has changed over re-reads or new books or something new has come to light and there is more for you to add, by all means come on in.
As far as people surviving.
I just want fid to survive, the rest can all go to hell or something simular.
Fid won't survive of course... but that doesn't mean I can't wish for it. Having hope is the first step to having things go your way.
Mainly I think the young characters are going to survive. Gonna be a big case of out with the old in the the new. The time of the bridge burners for example is over, its time for their new younger equivilents to step up and have their moment in he spot light. You can see this plainly with some characters, i'd put money on bottle being the new quick ben for example.
Definetly don't think we're heading to an all out mass murder or everyone. Deaths only remain tragic in a limited basis, a lot of the drama comes from survivers own sadness. The deaths in MoI were extra powerful because you saw how everyone reacted to thoose deaths, kept adding to the effect with each new griever. If theres nobody left the whole thing becomes somewhat hallow. Havin read some stuff where it reaches the last book and the author just axe murderers everyone it wasn't a pleasant or even sad, death just became standard and it all happened so fast it just felt like a rushed easy way to rap up character stories without any real thought. Sort of 'I can't think of a good ending for this guy or this guy, lets just kill 'em and be done with it'.
