Yeah, not looking good. Farnsworth does rule for one reason though. Remember when he pile drove that guy in a brawl a few years ago? That was classic.

Haha, yes, that was a good brawl.
And yeah, the Sawx have a hard time with the Jays, while the Yanks have a hard time with the Rays. And then the Sox and Yanks nearly always go around .500 against each other.
Go figure...

Sox are obviously suffering a post trip to Japan hangover.
Yes! Braves beat the Mets again! With Santana on the mound! Ah...so easy to hate the Metropolitans.....

Some nice pitching by the Yanks yesterday...too bad Wang/Chamberlain/Rivera can't pitch everyday.
Mike and the Mad Dog, this afternoon, declared Joba the best relief pitcher in baseball...so one can now assume that he's going to rocked next time he pitches.

Yep, and I para-quote Fat Mike: "It's simple, there's nobody in baseball with anywhere near the kind of stuff Joba has. His stuff is just ridiculous, no one else even come close, he's just that good. Maybe Gagne, in his prime, before he got injured, had similar stuff, but nobody, right now, has better stuff..."
Something like that. Whatever, Mike Francessa is a douche. Now, Joba is awesome, but I think it's a little premature to go proclaiming him the best reliever in baseball. He's only pitched, like, 30 innings.

And it's bologna. There were at least a half-dozen, maybe a dozen, relievers(not all of them closers) last year that were as good/better in tougher situations, and didn't fold when the pressure was really on. Over time his numbers will inflate as hitters adapt, scouting reports get out, and he's seen more often by each hitter. Expect a bit of a sophmore slump, especially if Girardi abuses the staff like he did in Florida.

Tigers are 0-6, who saw this coming? I'm sure they'll get it turned around, but it had better be soon...or they will be in a whole too deep to get out of.
Griffey hit his 594th homer yesterday, a few away from 600. Nice to see an untainted guy get to that milestone, actually means something.

But they didn't have to deal with the supernatural swarm of gnats, like biblical locusts they were, that overtook Jacobs Field (I'll never call it Progressive). Biting and buzzing poor Joba, the bastards were, while leaving Carmona alone to deal his junk. It was a rotten deal, I tell you. Conspiracy I say.
No, but seriously, it makes me mad when people start getting all hell-bent on declaring a rookie the next coming of (insert greatness) when they've hardly been tested. Joba's stuff is sick. Knee-high and tight at a 100mph? It's sick. But he's never been taken to town...who knows how he responds to a beat down...without the gnats as an excuse.

Despite how much I hate the Yankees, I'd never deny the kid has some sick stuff. We'll have a better gauge of him after a second season, I believe. Do you think he'll become a starter Slum?
Glavine looks great so far. He's dipped into the fountain of youth!

Will Joba become a starter? It depends entirely on how well/poor the Yanks current starters perform. My guess is if they're struggling to keep pace, then, yes, he probably will...I have no idea how that'll mess with his groove though. The way things are looking now, it seems like he's going to be a very valuable commodity in the pen.
The Yanks need to trust in their younger relievers -Bruney is looking sharp- and stop relying on Farnsworth and the awful Hawkins. Kei Igawa is still waiting in the wings, but most are writing him off as of now.
I haven't heard what Glavine is doing...kicking ass?
And if you listen to the pundits, the Tigers are reeling due to the injuries of Granderson and Sheffield. But 0-6 is no way to start a season.

Yeah Glavine is doing well, but we blew the game tonight versus the Rockies
Stupid Matt Holliday *shakes fist*
Granderson is a huge loss for them, when is he due back from that finger injury?

When's Granderson back? I suppose google will tell, but I'm thinkin' a couple weeks...Him and Sheff are important pieces to that team, for certain...
I haven't been keepin' track, but their (Tigers) pitching must not be so hot...

It's erratic. Verlander looks like a younger Roger Clemens (pre cheater of course ) at times, and then other times he looks like a single A hack.
I'd love to see the Royals come out of nowhere and win the division. They haven't been relevant in decades.

Farnsworth needs to go...now...I hate him.

yanks will come around.. they're a very patient lineup for the most part and it takes time at the start of the year to work the count consistently in order to setup easier pitches to hit. this happens damn near every year to the yanks

Damn, the Jays got murdered in that series with the A's. Couple of close games but they still lost 'em in the end.

Okay, the Yanks' bats cam alive a bit tonight...they should just stop messing with the lineup now. keep Melky in there, keep Giambi out, keep Ensberg at first. Platoon Matsui and Abreu in right. Put Jeter back when he's healthy. Use Molina against teams that run the bases well.
Boston tomorrow! There will be beers...
