Oh I know, hence the "I like to think" part :) I have to stay hopeful so that I don't cry myself to sleep every night.

I would have figured another possibility on the "Deathslayer" thing could be the Crippled God trying to make an attempt on Hood (the lord of death after all). But that would be a little too epic I think.

I approach the characters in this way:

Love em, hate em, whatever, but as Logan Ninefingers would say, eventually we're all heading

back to the mud

I thought that the Deathslayer name being related to Rhulad was specifically touched on somewhere. Of course I have no idea WHERE, but perhaps I can find it.

Good point, of course, it could be a future reference...perhaps the CG ending the idea of death....crazy theory I know.

Everything else that came out of Fiddler's card game has been played out already, so I really doubt that this is some obscure future reference.

If anyone comes up against Hood it will be Karsa. This possibility has been hinted at a few times in reference to Karsa dragging soulds around that Hood wants. Not that I think they'll go at it, but that Karsa is the most likely to go up against Hood.

You're right of course. Dasseem has every reason to go after Hood. I was just thinking in terms of replacing Hood in the pantheon though. Dassem strikes me as someone who would go after Hood then go off and do his own thing, letting someone else fill the role.
