Hope you're all still having a great time. Paleman is now home but had an absolutely tip-top time with everyone today. Big up you all.

By the way, cheers Cougar for ripping my arm off. (so you did). :-)

Hope Sandra was a bit happier with today's cricket! I told her we'd do our best to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory :D

I have photos! They're of the Manchester (and London) meetups, and the BBQ too, and can all be seen here (don't worry, I'm assured there's no login or registration needed!): http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2268...65f&id=61412310

Cougar, do you remember when I shouted: "Jim, are you awake?!" I'm just curious. I'd also like to admit you are the better arm pusher (considering the lacklustre format) of the two of us.

Freaking A that was an awesome night... The guys are all cool (well, I say cool... I really mean erm... not...) and Hetan and Mal are wonderful for letting us come and stink the place up (well TT did anywawy...) Also, the fact that we got to hang out with ERIKSON HIMSELF and chat to him about loads of stuff (Cougar and his anthropology...) and the fact that no-one fell in the pond (nor did anyone push me, in your face Morgoth!!) It was an all round flipping brilliant time. I am now completely knackered...

I would like to say special thanks to Brood for not killing me in the car, to Bubba for the cakes, and to Dag, my number one Austrian fan!

Anyways, my photos are here but there are just a couple worthy of putting up straight away... All you Malazites I met who are on Facebook please add me. (friend whore on FB!!)

Mr Steven Erikson, with the poster we gave him...

Thoroughly enjoyed the bbq, thanks to Hetan and Mal for putting up with us all, Mal was such a gracious host that he stayed up all night to keep us entertained, thanks to Cougar for generously giving me a lift home (and I think we ALL agree that you shouldn't cut your hair, maybe you could grow it :D), and it was good to meet all of you I hadn't met before, and see those of you I had again.

Oh and special thanks to Steve, his wife, son and editor for putting up with us all :D I hope they weren't too scared...

Had a fantastic time, even though I stayed sober and Trem tried to poison me with Gamel Dansk, which is pure fail in a bottle. My opinion of Denmark has dropped, I must say. A big thanks to everyone for providing such a quality time and not noticing I collected all your wallets, and especially to Bill and Hazel for being mad enough to offer their house, time, awesome dogs, food, drink and our very own SE to play with. :D

The goddam norwegian Aquavit was considerably worse than the Gammel Dansk! I notice Morgy left it behind when he left too, says a lot :D

Man, that was awesome. I have only two words for now: STEAK PIES
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

OK, *sigh* TT asked me to put this one up "to make Brood jealous"
I will say now that it is nothing like what it looks like, and it was just unfortunate timing, but seen as no-one will believe us, I might as well just add "enjoy" :D

I just wanted to echo many of the thought already expressed. I had an awesome time and a massive thanks to Bill and Hazel.

Positives:

1. Steve was incredibly patient, friendly and tolerant of our anoying questions
and neither he nor claire were grumpy about us keeping them awake talking shite till 4.30
2. Solo and Whisper play fighting and being cool dogs
3. My victory in the Malazan armwrestling contest.
4. Hazel's excellent hugs
5. Dan not killing me for getting bacon fat on his RotCG
6. Bubbas boob shaped cake
7. Fantastic well informed discussions about politics and history with everyone.
8. Brood defying all expectations by not being a glassy eyed fanboy all day (apart from the part where Steve woke up in the night and found Brood watchin him sleep)
Too many to mention...
9. Finding out the people in Austria watch 'Allo Allo'

Negatives:
1> Illy honking up at 11pm and having to sleep in the study, FAIL
2> The length of my hair being worthy of discussion
3> Illys funking hideous shirts
4> Bill not trusting us not to go through the computer looking for Dust of Dreams proofs (he removed the track ball from the mouse!)
5> Cougars anti-win tendencies being humiliatingly exposed

Pics to follow...

Looks like an awesome time had by all... although it is a bit of a sausage fest. :D

in their fury, and so were cast out,
