The painting is a bit too dark perhaps...

Heh, she looks a bit like a Vortigaunt from the Half Life series. Still, I like the black, black and black, with a side order of black there. Looks nice.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

Ok, so someone explain how Aptorians look? I figured almost a horse-like creature, with one middle front leg instead of 2, and a different chest/face, but the same general 'shape'...
Am I way off base?
Anyway, that pic looks freaky. I wouldn't want to get jumped by one of those after dodging a Kalam.

Much more upright than a horse, I believe.

"Flat head, long neck, black and hairy all over." according to Mappo
From DhG:
Quote
The beast was a nightmare, close to nine feet tall, crouching on two thin hind limbs. A lone foreleg, long and multijointed, jutted down from its strangely bifurcated chest. From a hunched, angular shoulder blade, the demon's sinuous neck rose to a flat, elongated head. Needle fangs ridged its jawline, which was swept back and naturally grinning like a dolphin's.
Head, neck and limbs were black, while its torso was a dun grey.

I like it...but shouldn't he have a case of beer and be looking for small boys to fondle?
But seriously...if that is meant to be Aptorian from the books...I like it...very cool.

You tell us.
I can't remember exactly. I thought they were sleek and sort of shiny.

It's done. I was bored last night, and was curious to see if I could figure out what an aprorian demon looks like. I used brood's description, but from the wikipedia
Not sure I got the bifurcated chest just right, but it's so dark it doesn't matter
I'd like to challenge the rest of you guys to paint some nice aptorians if you're up for it. Would be cool to see some other interpretations.

I had to look it up. Means "forking into two" or something. I'm guessing it describes aptorian torso bonestructure.
EDIT: From the description, that's obviously what it describes

Well I suppose with the three legs, the ribs would have to split around the forelimb, so it could well mean that, aye.
