Is Conan the greatest ever barbarian character?

He ticks all the boxes, i.e massive strength, beserk rage, slightly simple, and he says things like 'I'm going to cleave your skull down to the teeth'.

Is there anyone better than him?

I like Logan Ninefingers and Druss the Legend, and I suppose Karsa fits the bill too. But are they as savage as Conan?

I have to say that for me CONAN is the greatest person who has ever been conceived.....Not only is he a smart savage....But he get's to bang the hottest chicks. So I would have to say that CONAN is KING.....
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

The only one I'd put even close is Minsc from the Baldur's Gate games. He was fairly badass

Surgen (the Laughter Bane) from Words of Wisdom Volume 1 is a better barbarian character.

The answer is Wolver... oh, sorry.

Conan wins. Not just because of his innate awesome, but because he set a standard that raised the bar from every barbarian before and set it for every one after.

How many babarians have had as many books, comics, movies and a (better forgotten) TV show about them?

And SAVAGE SWORD OF CONAN was the coolest thing comics ever did in the 80s.

- Abyss, still can't find Cimmeria on a map tho'....

Has anyone read Karl Edward Wagner's Kane books? I haven't because they're hard to find but from what I've heard it is comparable.

conan rules because of the way he got strong.

They didn't even bother with a montage in that movie showing him training up and stuff....

He is just a skinny wimp, baddies tie him to a whirlygig thing which he pushes for 20 years or something. Cut to him being arnlod shwarzenegger sized, breaking free out of the blue one day and killing his captors.

pretty much defines badass

Yes, perhaps one should get a big wooden wheel to push around in the livingroom.

I'd recommend watching the movies, but maybe that's not what you mean.

I don't even know if the comic is still running. I remember buying a danish version back in the 90s... I was so cool back then, had glasses too :D

I think we're talking about anything Conan. Was there made actual novels with conan as a protagonist? I'd totally read that.

Yea, about a million of them. I have no idea where to start but from the reviews, Robert E. Howard appears to be the shit.
