Sorry to hear that BK.

I ordered FoD today. Now for the waiting...

I'm also trying to decide if it's worth $25 bucks each for hardcover (first ed.) American Gods, and Good Omens... Trying... to... save...

Yes, both are worthy of your shelf in Hardcover.

Yeah, ended up getting them. I love both books and I've been trying to hardcover out as much of my personal library as I can. Almost hardcovered Anansi Boys as well, but... resisted that one. For now.

Also ended up getting the 2nd 3rd and 4th Stones of Power books by Gemmell, and The Number of the Beast by Heinlein.

The Ladies of Grace Adieu by Susanna Clarke
Hosts by F. Paul Wilson
Kings of Morning by Paul Kearney
The Compleat Traveller in Black by John Brunner

Today I picked up:

_Prince of Thorns_ by Mark Lawrence
_Reamde_ by Neal Stephenson
_World War Z_ by Max Brooks
_Tiassa_ by Stephen Brust

WWZ was purchased because I've joined the Manchester branch of the Post-Apocalyptic Book Club, and it's the first meet topic. PoT on the strength of forum recs, so if it isn't as good as you guys have said, I'll be sticking my tongue out in your general direction.

Holy bejeezes, this is a long thread.

Well, anyway, the book I bought today was The Name of the Wind by Rothfuss. I'm actually not going to be starting it yet, because I just started The Dresden Files and The Black Company series, and I want to finish both of those series first. Dresden and Black Company are easy, quick reads so far, though, so i expect to breeze through them in no time.

Therefore it brings me back to the book I bought today, which is of course, The KingKiller Chronicle series. After Rothfuss, I plan on starting Abercrombie's stuff, yet a book I'd really like to go ahead and come out, is The Stormlight Archive, Book 2, for Way of Kings, by Sanderson, was extremely good stuff, imo.

Cheers.

Am assuming then that you have the others in the series, as these are slightly random choices otherwise.

First Chronicles: _Lord Foul's Bane_, _The Illearth War_, _The Power That Preserves_
Second Chronicles: _The Wounded Land_, _The One Tree_, _White Gold Wielder_
Last Chronicles: _The Runes Of The Earth_, _Fatal Revenant_, _Against All Things Ending_, _The Last Dark_ (2013)

actually i know its order in the series, but the availability of the books in the store was what resulted in my picks, but I've already put up an order for the rest,
don't know when they'll arrive, but if you're saying that there's a new book coming by next year, i'll wait for it, and the Last Chronicles would not a trilogy this time, hmm,
what prompted me to pick Covenant was the thread about it, hehe, just curious about it,

my copy of the Runes of the Earth, by the way, is a Gollancz paperback, and its thick and heavy, the rest is del rey mmpb,

Going to a library sale in a week... this may not be a good thing. I have a rather large list of books to look for and at $2 for a hard cover will probably be coming home with a large number of them.

Went nuts with the credit card rewards:

Among Thieves: A Tale of the Kin by Douglas Hulick

The Drowning City by Amanda Downum

Prince of Thorns by Mark Lawrence

The Passage by Justin Cronin

And God bless Amazon's 4-for-3 deals...
