@Unoriginal. HP Lovecraft is one of my ol' faves also. Also see the spoofy HPL tale in Gaimans "Soaoke and Mirrors".
Bought today : "The Locus Awards" the best award winning short fiction from the last thirty years of the Locus awards. Contributors include GRRM, Neil Gaiman, Ted Chiang, Connie Willis, Bruce Sterling, Ursula Le guin etc.
I've read the GRRM tale ( SF future religous thing ) Pretty good.

Killing Custer by James Welch and Paul Stekler
Custer had it coming." This has been the popular litany for more than 120 years. Acclaimed novelist James Welch, in his first nonfiction work, restores dignity to both native people whose pride had been systematically stripped away and to an army officer whose own pride and impetuousness collided with unquestionable bravery. Along the way, the author examines the validity and relevance of latter-day symbols such as the movies Little Big Man and Dances with Wolves. No sugar-coating of facts here: "Almost all of the clich‚s about Plains Indians are true"..."Where was Sitting Bull during the fight?"..."Long Hair's scalp was not worth taking." A terrific addition to anyone's library. Many illustrations, maps, and vintage b&w photos.

Well I bought Healthy Dead and Blood Follows a while back, but its a pre-order so Hood knows when they'll find their way to my door. But I'll be buying Black Jewels Trilogy and Dreams Made Flesh pretty soon

Robin D Laws is quite a good author, if I remember rightly its an Angelika novel and also the first of the two.
Hope that you enjoy it.
Im recommending that no one buys the forthcoming Alexander book by Steven Pressfield. THe guy is doing my nut in with the use of the word mates, its appearing all over the place and I really dont thing Alexander the Great would have used it or if he did it would surely have been broken up with the use of either friends or copatriots or something like that.

I think Manchester (central and suburban) is actually pretty crap for getting your hands on anything other than the latest Harry Potter or Jordan's autobiography.

I've only bought one book this week - "Sense of Evil" (psychics and serial killers
).
And I'd just like to say *jealously* "Curse all you owners of Medicine Road" (

As you can probably tell, my copy hasn't arrived yet.)
