@Reave - well, then Happy Birthday!!! Posted Image

I just bought The Warrior Prophet by R. Scott Bakker. Cool part - I did it visiting Toronto for the first time. Canadians, you have a great city there...
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

  • House of Chains & Gardens of the Moon (Hardcover)

I needed to make my collection more up-to-date.

A question though, to the people here. I saw that some of you had bought The Warrior Prophet by R.Scott Bakker - where the **** did you get the copy? I thought it was not due out until 2005? (Oh - just noticed that it is out in Canada)

Have finished The Last Kingdom and Legends 2, The Last Kingdom is similar to Cornwell's Arthur series, quite a good book, Legends 2 is also good as the quality of writing from the established authors sets the standard I feel that more compendiums need to follow.

PPS - Do you all really buy that many books regularly?

I do. I usually buy my books all at once, in a batch of 6-7 a month. I know guys who buy much more than that actually, but my funding is obviously more limited.

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, vol. 1 - the trade paperback collection. Pretend the flic never happened.

That was a catastrophically bad film, as so many comic-to-film adaptations have been. As a result of it I never picked up the comic trade paperback.

A game of thrones George RR Martin & A clash of Kings as well. Bought them on the strength of the amount of times I have heard people talking about him on the forum.

Despite various reviews, I just bought pressfield's new book...we shall see in about a week.

Maybe going in with some rather low expectations will help?

I didn't buy it but I got it as a Birthday pressie.
The hardback deluxe edition of The Silmarillion, now all I need is the LOTR one and I have the set.

Also bought myself most of the Black Company books while in Sweden. I have the second book and The Glittering Stone series. Must say they are great books.

Also bought Legends 2 while in Sweden. Can't wait to read it.

I buy about a book a week. This week I bought 4, to celebrate the end of semester:
The Big U & Interface by my new fav writer, Neal Stephenson. Also I got Drawing of the Dark by Tim Powers (only read Anubis Gates by him but that one was a smasher) and Schismatrix Plus by Bruce Sterling.
