That and he comes off a bit pompous sometimes...but I guess that might be the hate I have flowing through me for waiting so long for ADwD...yet if it is a great book I will forgive him.

@Kud...sorry man....*walks away in shame*

That's what makes me so irritated, they told us that AFFC was half of a almost finished book. Then over two years later he's still not done with aDwD? it wouldn't bother me so much if he wasn't working on other projects. Plus after reading Dreamsongs vol II and his little monologue in there about all the unfinished series he has I'm really worried that we'll never see the end of this one.

OT- I bought the new Bernard Cornwell novel, Sword Song. Typical Cornwell, short and sweet. Follows the Sharpe formula but in Saxon England.

Supposedly, unlike RJ, he swears that if he were to die before finishing the series...tough cookies for all of us.

He spends too much time on his blog whining about Football (or in this rare case gloating) or getting angry because PEOPLE ACTUALLY WANT TO READ HIS SHIT AND WANT TO KNOW WHAT IS TAKING SO LONG.

Ok, so it was a few days ago, but I am ripping through it and it is really awesome.

The Autobiography of Malcolm X, which I just found out has three unpublished chapters because the writer who did all the interviews with Malcolm was a republican and an integrationalist and thus took out stuff that would show that MX stayed a black nationalist, though anti-racist and internationalist after his break with the Nation of Islam. This is according to interviews with Manning Marable on Democracy Now about his soon to be released biography on MX. I cannot wait to read that.

My man Malcolm was absolutely amazing in terms of intelligence, life and the courage to admit he was wrong, reassess and reinvent himself.

Can I also mention that he named his first daughter after Atillia the Hun!?

Just picked up the 4th book in Jim Butcher's Codex Alera series. In both the Harry Dresden series and this one, I love the way he builds up to "holy crap, it can't get any worse than this" moments, and then it does. very pleasurable reads.

It's actually a couple of days ago, but I'm currently reading The Briar King after picking it up. I read it several years ago and recall having liked it, so I wanted to give it another try and see if it's as good as I remember.

I also bought Memories of Ice, because I want to read up on that one and House of Chains before starting on The Bonehunters.

I got all three Black Company books by Glenn Cook, all in one volume, which is sweet. Also, the Lies of Locke Lamora. Score!

I've just bought The Story of The Stone and Eight Skilled Gentlemen by Barry Hughart. They're books I owned (and loved) in the early 90s; the latter of which turns out to be somewhat rarer, and substantially more expensive, than I had imagined it would be...
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. What about Midnight Tides? Do you have no plans to read that in sequence.

I bought Storm of Swords Book 1 and 2 the other day.

Isn't storm of swords just one book in the Fire and Ice series?

It's split into two here in the UK. It doesn't usually happen this way.

I've already read Midnight Tides. I bought it as a re-entry the series(I had only read the first four books several years ago), and because it didn't seem that I needed to re-read any of the other books first. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but now I'm eager to continue reading the series. I just feel that there are too many things from Memories of Ice and particularly House of Chains, that I can't remember. So I want to re-read those before starting on The Bonehunters, so I know what's going on and who is who. It's not easy to wait though, but I'm sure it'll be worth it. :D

They just started splitting GRRM's books here in the US, before (at least as far as I had seen in bookstores) they were all published in one volume.

I think it's available in both the original and the split version here in Denmark. As it should be. Splitting up books like that is annoying.
