The free copy of Feist's Into a Dark Realm that I won off SFX Magazine arrived today. Now to work up the enthusiasm for catching up with the series...

Two Feist books, FLight of the Nighthawks and Into a Dark Realm (as someone said further up, quite a bargain at amazone.co.uk), and finally V for Vendetta.

Garden, FotN was... interesting... you need to let me know how Into a Dark Realm is, as i did not know it was out yet.

Obdigore, am I obsessed with details, or was FotN the worst edited book ever? Never could make his mind up if the two Keshian princes were children or grandchildren to the Emperor, if Kaspar did or did not have a sister (at some point he muses about being a lone child), and constant ****-ups regarding left-right. Yeah, I read the entire book yesterday, started on Dark Realm now - 93 pages into it, it's ok. Nothing grand, but not as bad as the 3 books in The Conclave of Shadows - besides, why on earth is this a new series, "the darkwar", as it very extremely, constantly, ultimately, directly links to Conclave of Shadows series? It seems like an excuse to split the books into trilogies.

IaDR was okay, better edited than FotN atleast - allthough still some errors here and there. It didn't have the feel of a finishing story the way the other books have, and it clearly has to be read as part of the series. Still, Way better thant the Conclave books, I look forward to how this continues...

Those last two don't often turn up on UK bookstore shelves. I think the Waterstone's I go to has an employee who knows what they're doing, because they had them in--imported; american editions--along with several others (Paul Park, Lucius Shepard, etc) I didn't have the money to buy.
