cant speak for everybody but I suspect most people liked the series. it has made allot of folks top 5 or top 10 lists. for myself I liked it allot.

I enjoyed it substantially more than books 4-6 of the MBF, to be frank. On the other hand, it was rather depressing in places and the story just halted in mid-flow at the end of the third volume, which seemed very bizarre.

I've read Soldier of the Mist and seem to remember enjoying it. Is the other one a sequel?

There is the Soldier in the Mist and the Soldier of Arete which follows the Mist one.

The one I got Latro in the Mist has both books in one.

And very soon there'll be Soldier of Sidon, the first of two novels that will complete Latro's story.

I think so. Her writing is delightful. I've reread sentences just because I liked how well she wrote them. :)
She is very witty too.
So far, I've been introduced to Mr. Norrell, but not Strange, and she doesn't make him out to be a perfect English gentleman at all, despite him apparently being the protagonist. He is arrogant and a bit of a scrooge.

I've ready only about 175 pages though. But so far it is immensely enjoyable to me. I like historical fantasy type books (this being set during the Napoleonic Wars).

Why? Was the store out of toilet paper? =P
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.
