I have all except one issue of Planetary in floppies (if anyone has a copy of the Hong Kong Ghost Cop issue, issue #3 iirc, going spare I can give it a good home with all of its brethren) btw The Planetary/Batman crossover is utterly, utterly gorgeous; Ellis and Cassaday were both on their finest form.

For me btw issue #6, the origin of The Four, is among the finest single issues of a comic book I have ever read. I've read it many, many times over the years and it still doesn't pale.

If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Ellis comments on CASINO ROYALE and blows my mind.

I agree with all of this. PLANETARY to me is the FINEST comic series I own, bar none, hands down, close the polls. It rules.

Also, I'm afraid I can't let my Issue #3 go sir...but if I come across another, I'll let you know.

Just read the CROSSING WORLDS gn and you're entirely right about the Batman story. The JLA one was a bit trite and skittered around the edges of being actually interesting, ditto the Authority one.

I keep dithering on whether to pony up the dough for both ABSOLUTE PLANETARY volumes....but that will run me like $200 bones. It Is Ellis though....

Almost agree, but Vesper spends too much time cowering in the corner during the stairwell fight. If Ellis were correct she would have taken those guys out with her stilletto heel converted into nunchucks by the ankle lace.

Ellis to write SECRET AVENGERS, follows GLOBAL FREQUENCY formula, accuses Bendis of writing pr0n, Brubaker of mafia connections...

- Abyss, strictly a 'wait for the trade' guy, but may just pick up the floppies for this.

Dude. I am so there. Floppies all the way. I have signed copies of floppies for Planetary #1 and Ministry of Space #1,2, and 3. The only way to fly baby!

The ole lady got into Tulane's school of public health masters program. Which is apparently one of the best in the country.

Which means i get to move to New Orleans, at least for a few years. I'm excited, but i like my small town darnit.

There really should be a whats making you queasy/nervous/anxious thread.

I appreciate your implicit reference to Godzilla Bukkake in that post, thus keeping it on-topic with this thread.

I had a non lucid moment 5 minutes ago.
I was looking through my favourites and saw the FreakAngels link.
The abbreviated link icon is FA. And in my lack of lucidity all I thought was "Forkrul Assail".

I was lurking around Whitechapel as well, and frankly they're crazier than we are.

It's for that reason that i don't use FA to refer to the F'Angels. Too much confusion here.

While i'm not nearly as active there, i like. Ellis draws a certain flavour of fan...

Not strictly Warren Ellis, but on his blog he mentioned a book/text about leaving Earth he'd heard of. I don't remember the title though it was something along the lines of "Let's get the hell/fuck off Earth" or something similar.

I'm trying to find it on his blog but my search-fu as failed me and I cannot find it. Can I get some help?

On his site Ellis states that he has delivered the complete draft of GUN MACHINE to his editors.

Then he sideswipes us by noting that this is mostly because he's fucking sick of it and wants someone else to suffer for a while.

Love that man.
