she was pregnant before they left the camp... I think? And yet wasn't it Heboric that healed her damaged loins? Did she have sex with a guard or something before they left camp?

Yeah, she thought that Korbolo Dom was the father, I think. The kid was half-napan, at least - blue skin.

A guard was in the process of raping her when she killed him and Heboric helped her escape.

Thank you, kind sir. She said it could have been one of many, but always felt it was Dom, which was basically confirmed when it was born.

Just viewing the picture, it could be either Scillara or Felisin. Since it's Scillara...it's a confirmation that we're going to Darujistan at some point. Maybe TtH?

Of course we all want the prologue...yet methinks the actual getting of the prologue will only make the burning need for the whole book all the worse....alas...caught between the hammer and the anvil...yet again

Yeah, but the prologue gives us the temp fix and gets the juices flowing on how the book will go... and also introduce us to new characters!

I'm going to guess Felisin Fatter. And again, nice work.

EDIT: Hmm, I based my guess on the fact she looks more fat than pregnant, and the extravagant background, but now I'm not so sure! GAH!

You need more exposure to pregnant women. that is clearly a pregnant woman, her belly and boobies are big, not the rest of her. F is huge and would probably have fat ankles by now, not to mention some depraved middle aged S&M sex slaves in the background.

2000 years late for a post but what the hell

This picture completely ruins everything I thought I knew about the malazan world.

It was bad enough when I had to restructure my image of Laseen to make her blue. To add to it I've had to consider the idea that Apsalar is possibly oriental recently.

However, when it came to Seven Cities natives, I thought I was on solid ground. I knew without a shadow of a doubt that 7C people were brown skinned, ala quick ben and kalam etc.

And now it turns out Scillara is white...

I think I officialy give up trying to picture diversity amongst malzan characters. They can all be bright yellow.

Is Scillara a Seven Cities native? I admit I don't specifically remember but I thought she got caught up in the Whirlwind and came from other parts.

well I kind of assumed she was I dont remeber it being stated otherwise so I assumed she was one of the many locals in the camp.

I'm probably completely wrong.

I always pictured Scillara as non-7C and blond. I'm not sure where the blond part came from. Was Felisin blond? Erikson gives so few visual cues for his characters...
"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"
