well I'm far from saying anything we know right now is absolute, it's just how I see it. so far it's pretty accurate, I think, right? I'm just asking what would you say about the state of energy and why it behaves like it does if there's an infinite pool of it? does physics actually know something that's actually infinite AND researchable by science?

@CI - my troll comment was mostly aimed at you quoting a sentence and just saying "there's something wrong in that sentence" and just leaving the post at that without actually saying anything.

I didn't want to derail the thread for my petty syntactical issues.

Are you trying to say there is evidence in our current observations of energy that imply it is not infinite?

Seems to be pretty accurate to what we know so far.

Having an infinate amount of energy does not mean there is an infinate amount of energy contained in a certain area, since there is an infinate amount of space for the energy to spread out in.

"space" is a poorly understood substance. it's looking like "empty space" does not exist (thus lending support to infinite theory)

Yes yes, I didn't mean 'outer space', I meant there was 'room' for everything, since the space might be infinate

What about these Rogue Stars? They are ejected from their home galaxies and are flying through so called "empty space".

Of course, with the discovery of Dark Matter is there such a thing as "empty space?"

Dark matter has not been "discovered", but that's not what I'm talking about. Quantum Vacuum fluctuations imply that there is no such thing as "room" or "empty space". In this "empty space" exists a background energy, thus it is not "empty" as we understand it, just has less "stuff" in it.

Well there cannot be an "emptiness" than in any way can there? Because if we can see just blackness...than what we see is something....or "less stuff" as you put it.

Inconclusive. But if this is so, is it so only for out local universe?

Well that is a big can of worms we can open up.

Who knows?

Do different universes have different laws?

Is there such a thing as Absolute Law when it comes to Physics?

Then the question comes, different universes, different elements?

I love this stuff :D

Absolute law? Possibly symmetry.

Different elements? Depends on what you mean by a different universe.

Different universe=completely separate from our own.

Could we even make contact with this different universe?

Alien to us.

Now if we could only start on Terraforming Mars....we may need the real estate soon :D
