Obelisk

Quick question, actually from GotM (but possibly needing clarification from others), when Raest is talking to K'rul, K'rul states that his aspect was Obelsik (as in the card burn) I'm a little confused by this.
What is the character of Obelisk that it has been occupied by both K'rul and Burn, and also seems related to Dolmen in the holds?
The only commonlaities between the two seem to be that they both house, realms/wolds in their anatomy.
Thoughts?

What we know is that Obelisk generally refers to people who have been or have gone dormant.

And Tool got his vision and arrows from Obelisk, no? or was that Dolmen or Menhir?

It was Toc... and supposedly, yeah... he got visions after a piece of rock took his eye at Pale...its' somewhere in MoI, but I left by books in Kingston, so no quotes!

So the idea of being dormant makes sense, it also ties up with the idea that Dolmen = Obelisk (beyond the obvious).
This would also tie in with the Letheri creation story (the realm forgers, where the force called the Errant draws fire and dolmen into conflict to create life/realms) this could be interpreted as energy and dormancy being drawn into conflict, creating stable realms where they are in harmony and 'vast fields of destruction' where they could not find a balance.

Well, Im sure the fact Burn has been asleep for a thousand years may have something to do with the dormancy of the card, and anyone borrowing her power, as such, is also counted as dormant. You know, it really bugs me, we know nothing about Burn at all, yet she seems important.

Do you mean Toc, who got his visions because a chunk of Moon's Spawn landed on his head (Tool ref'd this as significant because it was a chunk of rock or something) and his arrows and knife because Tool made them for him from stone?
I don't think Toc or Tool were ever aspected to Obelisk. In an 'Anomandaris' bit in GotM, Caladan Brood is ref'd as 'menhir'd one' or similar. That said, i don't recall any other ref to Obelisk, Dolmen and Menhir being connected (or even Dolmen and Menhir being positions), other than in the odd Asterix comic.

Icarium also brought out Obelisk during Deck readings in Seven Cities, when he was there during DhG.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Yes I ment Toc. Kud already pointed it out above but I didn't bother to change it.
Tool remakrs something in the lines of Toc being marked by Obelisk because his eye was stolen by a rock. His power had to come from somewhere and it certainly wasn't from Togg.
Funny thing about Burn, in MoI its mentioned (by the tennes witch I think) that Burn was a sentience that developed, contradicting the ascended mortal story. It also explains why Raest calls Burn young.

We don't have the whole story on Bunr, but if a pig, a worm and a couple of wolves can ascend, no reason an aspect or personification of the world can't.
Relative to Raest, anyone under 20,000 years or so is young.

arent all elder gods/elementals "sentiences" that developed? cuz before the coming of light there was nothing to be sentient about, everyone just floating about in the void, then the void got wise and started bashin some of those elements together. they didnt become sentient till blood worship gave them form.
at least thats how i see it.
toste, sees a mental picture of MD: "i'll call you fire and you dolmen and you errant- oh shit!@%# what the hell is all this?"

Btw, am rereading early GotM, and there are three, THREE refd to menhirs in the first 150 pages or so...
One to Brood in the context of Anomandaris, as 'menhir'd one'.
Another to Thelomen in a poem as 'wake not these menhirs' or similar.
And finally in an early reading, Tattersail pulls the Mson of Death and notes him carving unknown ruins on menhirs.
Now, unless wikipedia lies to me, a menhir is standing stone, sometimes carved or shaped, while an obelisk is a stone pillar that is carved but free standing... so similar but different.
