GotMisms

The explanation of chaos becoming less prominent after GotM, and probably DG and MoI could be related to the change in the warrens in general, after the CG's onslaught. There could be a perfectly reasonable explanation in this context imo. Although it does seem odd that nothing is given/discussed to explain this change. I'm throwing contentious/borderline points out into the open in order to discount options, having only read the book twice, if that.
The T'lan point is definitely a GotMism then, I was wondering if it was just from Tool's speech that this point had arisen because there are explanations against him revealing too much or just plain simplifying things. But alas, no.

You forgot Orfantal's sex change, too.

I didn't mention it because Aptorian already had, in the first response.

Isn't CHAOS the 'space' between the warrens in the later books, and it appears to be an actual warren in the first book?
- at least, that is what I have gotten out of my re-reads.

Has that KCCM communication device been used since GotM? in MoI I mean.
If I remember GOTM right (It has been a long time since the last reread) the KCCM communication device was only known to the old Guard. That might be why we haven't seen it since. What with Wiskeyjack dying in MOI and Dujek dying in Bonehunter. Both of them were together in MOI, and we don't know if Laseen knew about the device. There aren't really any other old guard in charge that might know. They are all missing or dead and the missing ones aren't leading armys. That said it is probably a GOTM's.

How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

Togg went into the Warren of Chaos In MOI after the elder gods cursed Kallor. He went into it to look for Fanderay, or to wait for her to come to him. Then when Toc the younger was thrown into it in GOTM Togg found him and kept him alive and took him out of the Warren in MOI. So that would make it not a GOTM. However it is suppose to be a very dangerous place. Togg was born there and was frightened of it.
-It fun to play with chaos. Good building blocks....Just ask Gem:D

Good point. I'd forgotten about Toc & Togg's adventures in Chaos. Consider it removed from the strong GotMism list, though I still maintain that the treatment of Chaos differs between GotM and the later books.

The reason that you think that is because in GOTM we had the very insaine Hairlock who was a puppet who used Chaos. It couldn't have warped his body...He didn't have one...Also the Chaos magic that the CG might be allowing his followers to use might not be the direct chaos that Hairlock used. Remember that the CG wants his followers to be flawed, so he might have made it that when his followers access Chaos through him it warps them.

Didn't they also say in MoI that Chaos was what the wagon in Dragnipur was trying to get away from?

@creffett, pretty much, although not quite that concisely.
The major GotMism that I can think of, that hasn't been entirely mentioned yet, is the reference to Quick Ben's "Warren", as in, singular. This changed entirely in later times, and his multiple warrens were at first directly related to his souls "Unleash the Seven within me!" - definitely a GotMism, on both accounts.

Wow i'll have to go reread GoTM since I totally missed any sex changes happening with Orfantal, admittedly 'he' seemed kind of 'light in the loafers' in MOI but I'll give it a reread to see. soon. one day. soon. really.

I think they do, but it is also proposed that this was the matron death spell.
I've sort of turned away from that idea, since in RG it's said that the matron deathspell worked by asserting time on the endless/eternal. Slow decay. Eventual death.

The theory still works, considering it was stated elsewhere that the Matrons tried to use Chaos, i don't have a problem with the notion that chaos comes into play via an attempt to assert time on timelessness.
