The Nazgul the Witch King or the ringwraiths fly around on in Lord of teh Rings.

I'm also very fond of that flying dragon dog from The Never Ending Story.

Please, Pust's mighty steed is superior.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

I don't like to think of Mount's as better than one another, even though I should, in Fantasy they are a means to an end...where as in life I would treat a mount specially once I had developed a bond. Perhaps.

The dragons of Pern always made me want a dragon to ride.

I think Robert Jordan once said that Bella was a Ta'veren, then Bella became a hot topic on the WoT boards just as Pust's mule is on this baord.

Do LandMates from Appleseed work as mounts, or are they armor?

And if they are, then what about the motorcycles from FF VII: Advent Children?

And what about Harry Dresden's Blue Beetle?

Ok, RJ's mule is just not as cool as Iskaral Pusts, i mean it's not even mentioned for like six books, instead he makes a veiled comment on a board. Iskaral's mule fixes camp and stuff!
Bella, well she just kinda plods along.
Iskaral's mule looks on placidly whilst the world seems to end in BH
Bella, still plodding along, not even mentioned in six of ten books or so.
Iskaral's mule is kewl. nuff said
Bella...well, i suppose it's mobile food or something...

Then I have to go with the Blue Beetle. That car is darn cool... as long as someone else is driving.
