It's on his official blog so I see no reason to disbelieve it. I really liked the first three books or so but stopped reading after that. It's a shame his fans wont figure out how it all ends.
Just thinking here...anyone want to volunteer to watch over SE and ICE? maybe get them a bubble suit?

I'm truly saddened to see another human being shuffle off the all too short mortal coil, but...... AHAHAHAHHHHHAAAAHAAHAHAAA.
Whatever happens to the Wheel of Time series will become the stuff of comedy for years to come.

Thats a shame and so sad as well.
At least he left enough info to pass the story on so the last book will be published.
Even if my opinion on WoT changed as the years went on I'd be lying if I said the books didn't bring a lot of entertainment as I read them. Many thanks to the man that did that.

Robert Jordan was the one who introduced me to fantasy and even after authors such as Erikson and Martin I have always held and will forever hold a place for him in my heart. I have always considered the criticism directed at him to be, if not entirely untrue, then at least extremely exaggerated. I have no words to describe what I feel right now. He meant so much to me.

Ive heard he dictated most of the last books main plot lines so it should still come out...all be it not entirely his writing in the end...but def his story.

Oh dear! ;( Im really quite upset. His books are what got me started reading in the first place. As before i thought it all a big waste of time.
"I think i was a bad person before. Before this time. I do not try to be good now but i am not bad. Perhaps if i try harder i may get a better hand dealt next time? But surely that makes it pointless? Perhaps i am good. Just good at being pointless. But that would make me bad. Bad at having a point. Ah…. I see now. I was nothing before, I am nothing now. I am bad purely because im pointless. "

@ChrisW, amphibian is entitled to his own opinions, and nothing of what he said warrants editing or deletion. If it bothers you so much, put his posts on ignore. Although, should you "abuse the fuck" out of him, I assure you actions will be taken against you.
That aside, it's a shame he died before finishing his works. Having not read the books personally, I can't comment much beyond that, although I've heard he dictated most of the last book and left detailed notes to finish it. At least there will be closure at some point in the future.

Damn and I've been waiting to read the series until the last book was finished.
Well better start now then.
I have no words of praise or scorn since I don't know the mans work.

Well, whether you liked him or not, or liked WoT or not, this is very sad.
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Say what you will about how the series went on, OR/RJ was a talented writer and a creative mind, and the genre is poorer for losing him.
I admit to curiousity about how the series will be concluded. I'Ve joked more than once about KJAnderson/C Golden/RA Salvatore/others scrambling for the chance to tie up the series, but i suspect it will be a while before Tor actually makes public its intentions. I have no doubt they WILL finish the series.
- Abyss, also: dammit.

Sad news indeed.
Like many of you I enjoyed the WoT books very much until after book 6 or so. I've still continued to buy them and although I do think the latter books have dimished in quality I would still like to see the finale of the series.
RIP Mr Jordan. You will be missed.

In an Age called 2007 by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose from the bookstores of the land, as Jordan fans anxiously asked when the next book would be out. The book was not the beginning, for this was the tenth volume, and it certainly wasn't the end, as this series frequently seems like it may go on for ever. But it was a beginning.
As they wrote in the about the author section " He has been writing since 1977 and intends to continue until they nail his coffin shut " ..... I always had a bad feeling about that.
Still in the early days I loved the series and own and have read all of the WoT books. In a small way I would like to thank the author for his long series as this gave me the opportunity to discover a certain Gardens of The Moon.
RIP Mr Jordan ..... from a humble fan.

I don't want him to RIP. I want him to haunt whoever will finish the series to make sure they do it right.
