Cold Iron - where do you find the time to do research this? :D

At least I made up some points from the last few games so I'm back in contention. But the AB's should have done better and earned me some more points (sigh).

Howlett should have got a hat-trick and Sivivatu had hands like feet during the Scotland match!

At work of course! :D

I won't bother to do anymore between trades because there are too many variables now, the team above ^ is the max points as at first trade period but depending on how players perform in future games it may be better for final total to have less points at this stage in order to have future high scorers in the team already. hopefully by the end i will have perfect starting line up and trades for each period :p

I'm amazed that Ireland have 2 forwards in the "ideal" team given their match performances! :D Otherwise, the majority of the ideal players are from teams that will probably go further in the competition. Coincidence?

Anyway I don't think you can make any more trades or substitutions until the end of the group stages i.e. just before the quarterfinals begin. So team managers will need to make tactical trades when the group games finish because you will only have 8 teams going forward in the knock out stages.

And if you're really good (or just plain lucky), you don't want to waste your available trades by having to constantly replace players/positions once your team (player) is eliminated.

Mind you, it does make the competition more interesting since we want our selected players to do well. I'm quite competitive, so obviously I want to be the "First Sword" in our friendly little league!!

So it's now the getting into the business end of the competition.

After a few surprising upsets we have the following quarter-finalists:

South Africa v Fiji
Australia v England
Argentina v Scotland
New Zealand v France

Barring any more upsets, we potentially have an all southern hemisphere semi-final series.

So get those team sheets out. Only 2 days to go for your next selections!

Scotland are the only northern team with a hope of getting into the semis. Which would be a bit of a joke!!

"They ruins it!"

Well, my fantasy team is pretty much destroyed. 6 ABs all need to be replaced now. And 3 aussies too.

At least my (fantasy) job as manager/coach will last longer than Mr Henry's :o

Well i was well surprised that ENgland went through and LO! Brood, Scotland are out.

WHat do we think of England Verses France then? The teams sort of cancel each other out really. Anyone else??

And am i still bottom of the league?
"I think i was a bad person before. Before this time. I do not try to be good now but i am not bad. Perhaps if i try harder i may get a better hand dealt next time? But surely that makes it pointless? Perhaps i am good. Just good at being pointless. But that would make me bad. Bad at having a point. Ah…. I see now. I was nothing before, I am nothing now. I am bad purely because im pointless. "

I think the result is almost a forgone conclusion now. Malazan Claw has a safe lead over the rest of us.

The results table below show the team score and in brackets the points scored from the last game.

1. Malazan Claw Lucas 774 (74)
2. Bad Company Raymond 714 (94)
3. Daruquins Caladan 708 (92)
4. Morticide Marc 699 (102)
5. Shaved Knuckles Andrew 524 (28)
6. Acended 15 Flawed 277 (2)

To para-phrase Mr FitzPatrick:

Well done to the boys. The teams played well, and some mistakes were made. But overall the better side came through.

It was a game of two halves, and on the day,Rugby was the winner.

Cheers for playing everyone. At least it helped me keep some interest in the competition after my team got knocked out :p
