Silchas versus the 5 Tarathen/Teblor/whatever Gods at the end of Midnight Tides. An explosion, he walks out with the 2 swords in hand and then Iron Bars only see's them as they fall in seconds. It's left to the imagination. I think thats brilliant. Especially since that fight has been building since about the first 3rd of the book.

Whoops, my bad. Edited for major spoilers, but the demon princes aren't a plot point in any way shape or form.
Edit: Now, who wants to seek Rake and Karsa have a rumble? *hand in the air* Two swords, two warrens, two Ascendants... and one hell of a lot of collaterall...

However, I do love the Bridgeburner elite pwnage scenes, like in MOI, and the whole battle for Capustan (buildings filled with so many bodies their walls were bleeding, euch.)
Hm, I thought those buildings that were bleeding were a result of Gruntle and his army of Treach. That fighting was awesome idd.
In BH the fight I liked the most must have been Kalam and T'Amber vs the claw, allthough it got bored after a while. SE seems to make Kalam so overpowered from time to time, it's scary

But in the complete series the fightings I loved to most were: Coltaine fighting for days and nights, to make sure Duiker can make it safely into the city, and at the end not just make it because of idiot Pormqual.
Also I like the idea of Tool fighting that Seguleh, the third one. Can't remember if he really fought then (I know, shame on me) but I love the part where Tool admits he isn't sure he can handle it. I mean, a freakin T'Lan Imass, the sword master of the T'Lan Imass for that, was afraid he couldn't handle the third seguleh... made me wonder how the first is like

Offcourse, every fighting scene with Karsa is awesome, just because he rocks.
And then I also like the part when Iron Bars fights thowe 5 teblor dudes, and is about to lose (well, standing a good fight anyways) and Ublala Pung rushes to the rescue, and just crushes one of those Teblor to death. It's also so freaky overpowered and so very Ublala

And then, a also very touching scene, was Bugg killing all those attackers of Tehol, out of love for his 'master'. I loved, and still love, that bizar relationship between the two

so, basically, any fighting scene is amazing. The only fighting scene I didn't like was those ghosts of the Chain of Dogs attacking the camp in Raraku before Tavore could fight. It just didn't make sense, those ghosts jumping up and killing all. But any other fight I loved with all my heart

Fingers crossed for Toll the Hound... Rake vs. Karsa.

About Kalam, I don't think he is overpowered really, he is a brilliant close combat fighter but he usually takes woundings, he is quite physical in his style - uses his size to his advantage as much as his quickness. I mean, in almost every engagement he had to accept a cut or stab in BH. I think he says it best when he claims it's like time goes slower when he fights, he's just a genius at his art.
And still you can see that he is still human - I mean, his feats pale beside for example any fight Apsalar or Rake enters, but for an "ordinary" human they are quite exceptional.

aye, apsalar... I don't like apsalar. Well, I do like her, because of the love part with Crokus and stuff, but I don't like her fights. I can understand someone fights like a god while being possessed, but after the god leaves, she should have gotten worse. Okay, she would still remember some stuff about the fighting and all that, but she shouldn't still have the skill to fight like a God.
The way it is now, in the fights, it's sometimes as if a few mega-overpowered dudes are fighting millions of other dudes, who don't even stand a chance. I'm thinking of Caladan Brood (is it correctly spelled?) with his hammer... The hammer could destroy the freaking world if Brood wanted it, so basically no army ever will stand a chance against him. Brood is the ultimate enemy or ally, If you have him, you're bound to win.
Now, talking about Brood, I have to think of Kruppe... I'm wondering when Kruppe will lose his cool and starts fighting... I bet Kruppe would turn out to be a High Mage too... one able to compete with Quick Ben.

Best Epic Battle--Siege of Capustan (with one of the battles in DG close second... the one where the sappers built a bridge across the river then blew it up along with a third of Dom's army... remember? Damn, im due for a re-read, lol)
Best One-on-one--Karsa vs the bhederins... just like "All right, woman, if you will not act as bait, then WITNESS!!!), lol
Best Assasins' duke-out--Kalam&Rope vs the Talons in HoC
but the GREATEST single moment of all--Paran walks into Poliel's temple and casually tosses the otataral shard at her.... i honestly wanted that to be on a cover of BH... just shows how awesomely cool he became--just a flick and a goddess is dead, lol

myes, paran is quite cool, but SE makes him kinda weird. Because one way Paran is like 'ohmy, I'm master of the deck, but don't know how or what to do things', and his doubt is very human and thus very amourable. But then, like Poliel thing, he just walks in, kills poliel and is done with it, so he becomes super confident at that part, which I dislike.
Ah well, Paran will obviously still grow in the books to come, so i'm still looking forward to his adventures too

Hmmm.. the first paran that you're describing is from MoI, and (maybe) his flashback of when he's talikng to Kruppe in the Finnest House. From his first convo with Apsalar in TB, i got the impression of confidence. Basically, once he has thinks of a plan, Paran is able to carry it out confidently: he was able to get into the Jaghut Afterlife world and awaken the Degaroth. Then once he's back with the host for a while he's sorta lost again, but when he decides to act, hes 100% composed.
BAsically, Paran strikes me as a person who loikes to sit down and mull things over, think them through, and when he has to think on the fly, he's aesier irritated and seems more "lost". Of course, that's just the way i see him...

Paran strikes me as one of the more "normal" or human characters in the book.
Not too proud of himself (excepting the big brass ones he got riding his horse into the throne room), and struggles with being so important.
Sometimes he walks the balance beam well, sometimes he gets his testicles adapted for 2 dimensions by walking off the beam in both directions at once.
He grows in fits and spurts and that makes him feel more real to me...

I'm hoping the Bonehunters get to be really elite, almost like a modern-day special forces unit. That would be cool for a fantasy novel. I mean, they're like a modern infantry already in terms of their small unit tactics and reliance on 'support weapons' like mages and munitions. Then again, I'd also like to see them do the kind of Deadhouse Gates ownage we saw from the 2nd Army (was it the 2nd?) - if they hadn't had to protect those civilians, the second could have raped the Dogslayers through and through.

Tom, it was the 7th... the 2nd was on Genabackis......
As for the "elite"... those who survived RG (at least the marines) are as elite as you can get...

well, also about elite... Fiddler is already the super elite dude. It's only a pitty he doesn't seem to be as crazy as he used to be, now he's a leader and stuff.
I'm trying to think of a cool fighting scene with fiddler, but can't come up with any.. can anyone help?

I remember, from DG, when he kebabed some Gral fighters with a flamer or two... That was kewl, IMHO...

EDIT: That was when he, Crokus and Sorry travelled across Raraku to find Tremorlor...
And one by one the gardens died

Aye, but fiddler is always fighting with that moranth munition (I know, I know, it's his thing, it's what he's good at) but I'd like to see him use his sword once in a while in a cool way too. It's just.. the moranth munition imo is cool, but not really honourable and it starts to get boring after a while. (you know, whenever they're besieging a city, you know moranth munition will be used to get in, rarely ever some spiffy infiltration shit eg the horse of Troy)

I think if Fiddler used his sword he'd be more likely to injure himself.

I imagine Fid is pretty good with a regular crossbow, thus his development of the Lobber with Hedge.

Heheh, I don't think Fid would hurt himself with his regular sword
He is, after all, a bridgeburner, so he's most definitely been in situations where his sword was the only thing that kept him alive.
And aye, I guess Fid is pretty good with a normal crossbow too, but it's a shame he doesn't really use it that much... on the other hand, not many people do cool stuff with crossbows in SE's books... Anyways, I want more sweet fighting action... time I start reading RG I guess
