Curious reaction dabel bros is getting amongst the (always credible, totatality reprsentative, ever accurate /sarcasm) debris of the split with Marvel. Equal parts sympathy, skepticism and cautious optimism.
I have to admit, post the Song, Blake, Magician and other properties being flipped, i am curious to see what DB comes out with... a Dean Koontz project was utterly not what i was expecting. Then again, no one expected a LKH/Anita Blake series either.
Re Kevin J Andersen... *shrug* say what one will, he's usually better at playing with other's toys than his own. Hell, there are even a chunk of people who liked his Dune stuff. Koontz... i dunno, in some respects he lost me years ago, when he became formulaic in his stand alones. I did like the SEIZE THE NIGHT books, which were still/same formulaic, but had an interesting viewpoint protagonist to carry it along.
- Abyss, will look at this if it goes the distance and is collected.

Wow, so Marvel came in, took DBs top titles from them, and dumped them? Sounds like a typical MicroSoft-style corporate raid to me.
@T_K
I'd ask "what the story is", but I understand you're legally bound to say nice-sounding stuff.
Unless that was the DB plan from the beginning, to offload some high-cost production stuff for a load of phat loot$ and free them up to do new stuff?
Good luck with the new stuff anyway. I hadn't even heard that Dean Koontz had done sequels to Frankenstein, nobody ever tells me anything ...
It does seem on first glance at the Koontz story blurb, that it's gone from a classic basic morality tale to a complicated chase/caper with too many extra "shiny" things thrown in, just because they're "shiny". Anyone read it?
Cheers,
La Sombra, bummer

Abyss my friend, how are you? I want to assure you that Dean Koontz Frankenstein will go the distance and you'll be impressed
Sombra my friend, you're right legally my tongue's tied, lol. But things are very good with us and we continue to forge ahead with our goal to please the fans, same as always. Dean will be writing the third book in the series as well
I'd tell you about the second book, but knowing me I'll reveal so much spoilers that I'll get myself into some kind of trouble with those who didn't have a chance to read it yet, lol.
