re: the whole seed for an Azath house thing.

In Darujhistan, it was the Finnest seed combined with Raest's power that created the Azath, no? Much like the Finnest knife (Scabandari's power) combined with the seed that is Kettle.

Perhaps it requires a living soul (Raest & Kettle) and enough power (the Finnests). It'd be interesting to see if Kettle becomes the guardian of the new Azath.

@ mael:
I thought that the throne Trull, Onrack, Imass, QB etc...were defending was the throne of the t'lan imass not the beast hold?

That was how Kellanved controlled the Logros?

Kellanved claimed the First Throne and thereby assumed the role of Emperor of the T'lan Imass. see HoC usmmpb p. 773.

This is correct, they were defending the First Throne, which would allow any (mortal presumably) to sit on it to control the T'lan Imass.

However, the 'vow' has been weakening, and Kell was only able to control the closest clan, which were the Logros.

Oh never mind.

I was making a correction on Mael's post above, doesn't seem to have worked though!

Sorry that I put my first post as a question, not very good at putting my point across. Also having a stressful couple of hours ;) !

Back on topic though, if the Azath houses are aspected to the holds and not the warren's would the Azath where the refugium was, be aspected to the Dragon Hold. Being at the gateways of Starvald Demelain and being created by the finnest holding Scabbi's soul?

DragonHouse :p Awesome!!!

The Finnest acorn contained the Jaghut Tyrant's powers. Tool told Lorn that it is best described as a self-contained Omtose Phellack Warren. Raest still possessed plenty of power when, in the form of the old wizard, the new Azath house's roots pulled him underground.

I had always thought that the Beast and First Throne's were one and the same considdering the whole Imass Soultaken beast, beast before man therefore the beast throne was the First throne reasoning. I love SE. One little misunderstanding will throw you for a huge loop.

The beast hold contains two thrones, which Togg and Fancypants sit on.

The first throne isn't connected but it is an interesting question. Why is there a first throne of the Imass?

Thrones existed before K'rull fashioned the warrens, we know this because the beast hold and Omtose have thrones but why is there a throne of the First Empire of the Imass at all and what is it doing on Wu?

Shouldn't that throne be connected to Tellan if anything? Tellan is the racial warren of Imass so if they had a throne it should be standing there right, or can all thrones just be packed up and taken anywhere you like? (the KE throne doesn't count, that realm is sundered)

Hmm... on further thinking it does make sense that the throne commands the T'lan Imass because their ritual was all about their Tellan warren. But then it would have to be the Tellan throne. Same throne, just with another name?

The Throne of the T'lan Imass was created as part of the Tellann Ritual. Before that they were a bunch of separate clans. The Ritual made then united as undead, and the Throne is a symbol of that. It is the expression of the (true) First Empire of the Imass.
