Good weekend for mma coming up. I need to figure out somewhere to watch the Affliction fights for free. I would be more inclined to take them seriously as a legit mma promoter if there wasn't a freaking Megadeth concert as part of the ppv.

Is that the one with Lidle (kid from Indiana, I think that's how you spell it)? I know he's coming up in a bout soon.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

Lytle just fought, he got worked by Josh Koscheck, one of the bloodiest mma fights I've ever seen. Here's the Affliction:Banned card.

Main Card

* Fedor Emelianenko vs. Tim Sylvia @ HW
* Josh Barnett vs. Pedro Rizzo @ HW
* Matt Lindland vs. Fabio Negao @ MW
* Ben Rothwell vs. Andrei Arlovski @ HW
* Renato “Babalu” Sobral vs. Mike Whitehead @ LHW
* Mike Pyle vs. J.J. Ambrose @ WW

Undercard (FoxSportsNet)

* Aleksander Emelianenko vs. Paul Buentello @ HW
* Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Edwin Dewees @ LHW

may not be broadcast

* Vitor Belfort vs. Terry Martin @ MW
* Justin Levens vs. Ray Lazama @ MW
* Mark Hominick vs. Savant Young

Rampage picked up again, taken for mental evaluation

Seems more and more like he's got serious problems and needs help.

Anderson Silva's making his light heavyweight debut against b-level striker James Irvin. I give them credit, though - pitting Hermes Franca against Frank Edgar is a pretty stellar matchup, especially for an Ultimate Fight Night.

Sadly, it doesn't come CLOSE to competing with Affliction, so it'll be that I am watching. Hands down.

I think I'll go to a bar I found and watch both. UFC is replaying the fightnight after affliction, so I'll watch one then the other. I might get in trouble with the wife. Oh well.

Thats the spirit! ANyway, Dana bailed out Rampage, that was nice. Good boss. Also, Rampage may have just blown his chance for a rematch, meaning maybe Liddell will be carded after Forrests first defense, I think they may place Jardine in front of Liddell and it will be a rematch, just not a Rampage v. Forrest Rematch.
THIS IS HOW I ROLL BITCHES!!!

Liddell is fighting Rashad Evans next. Dana has said that if he wins he's getting a title shot. I don't know if Forrest will have to fight someone else before that happens. Honestly, I doubt it. Liddell/Griffin is a highly marketable fight, and Dana wouldn't want to risk Griffin losing to someone else. Although, Liddell versus any of the other title contenders is also a marketable fight. So much going on in that weight division, yoo bad Rampage took himself out of the mix.

If he had not had his recent troubles, which seem to me to be mental illness like severe bipolar, he would have only had to win one or at most two fights before getting a rematch.

UK Bravo not showing Afflcition

Not showing it-discussion on Bravo forums

It is still showing on the affliction site that bravo is showing it, but it wouldn't surprise me if their site isn't up to date. There's speculation (aka conspiracy theories, which are sometimes true) that the UFC is blocking it somehow.

They ain't showing it, I've checked the listings on the TV, it's not on that really hacked me off. I was looking forward to seeing Fedor kill fatty Sylvia.

I'll have to wait till the next UK one for a decent MMA night in I guess.

UFC have no deal going with Bravo in the UK anymore,
since bastarding setanta took the rights.

meaning i actually have to PAY to see fights.
I'm outraged.

usually Bravo would just run the events a day later, and i'd have to avoid this part of the forum till i'd seen it ;)
meh. Link was dead :(

You got all the ppvs for free? I'm jealous. Not anymore, since you don't get it anymore. Sucks.

Oh, what a beautiful day of mma. I saw the Affliction and the UFC cards. excellent. I don't feel like going into a detailed breakdown right now, but here's a couple of comments.

I'm looking forward to catching the Fedor fight whenever it's on. I can't wait to see him pound Sylvia's fat face in.

Yeah, I don't think that's going to happen. What we really need is a Fedor-Randy fight this year.

The Belfort-Martin and Arlovski-Rothwell fights ended with a bang, but nothing like the complete domination seen in Fedor-Sylvia.

What in the crap happened to Aleksander Emilianenko? The terse write-ups all point to a medical issue with CSAC.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Still not sure what happened to Aleks E. I really hope, for the sake of fighter safety if nothing else, they ban rings from mma. Falling out of the ring should not ever be a concern someone has to deal with when fighting.

I think the UFC needs to allow the octagon to be used by everyone. Yeah, it's a signature visual element, but the UFC should realize that the fighters, not the venue, are what really matters.

I hate when the fight goes to the ground and the referees have to stop the fighters for a time to move them off the ropes or to the center of the ring. Just put up a chain fence and then let 'em go.
