The Stephens uppercut KO was even more ridiculous than that Dos Santos in the last UFC. Jeebus. Biggest windup I've ever seen that connected successfully.

Lesnar's striking was following a pretty predictable pattern - left jab followed by right straight. Couture actually slipped it a few times before the simultaneous occurrence of Lesnar adjusting enough and Couture not dodging quite enough. Although Randy was pretty much done once that big one connected, I think everyone in the arena (except Brock's wife) was hoping that he'd pull something amazing off.

Maia's ground game is ridiculous - actual world champion level. Hazlett's pretty good too; he rolled into that sweet omaplota which led to the winning reverse armbar. Gurgel is an idiot - he's Hazlett's BJJ teacher and he doesn't use it during a fight? Florian just worked Stevenson. Gonzaga was handed a fat tomato can last night.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

That guy gonzaga fought had these strange lumps under his skin all over his body. I was almost expecting them to break open and bugs crawl out or something.

Fight for the Troops Pickem Wed on Spike

+ my guesses.

Koscheck vs Yoshida - Kos will prolly win a boring lay n pray decision.
Swick vs Goulet - Swick will try to lay n pray a decision like he did Davis
Cantwell vs Razak Al-Hassan - Al-Hassan by visious KO.
Tim Credeur Vs. Nate Loughran - Tim via Armbar.
Matt Wiman Vs. Jim Miller - Matt via Triangle
Luigi Fioravanti Vs. Brodie Farber - Luigi via TKO
Eddie Sanchez Vs. Justin McCully - Justin TKO via GnP.

The others I don't care about.

rooting for Yoshida but only marginally - as much as I once disliked Kos, gotta give him credit for his work ethic these days. Also, Yoshida's choke on 'War Machine' was sweet :The Force:

gotta back the Canadian, but my head says Swick, probably T/KO

don't know Cantwell or Hassan, keeping an open mind on that one.

Credeur seemed a decent bloke on the show and don't know Loughran, so I'll probably cheer for Credeur.

Matt Wiman cuz I've heard of him.

I'll vote for Brodie Farber simply as payback for that brutal headkick KO that he suffered, he was doing well up to that point :p

Don't know Sanchez or McCully but I'll say McCully - he looks meaner and claims to have a blackbelt in BJJ. (ETA: Also, McCully > Hardonk > Sanchez via MMAth)

I really wish I was still into UFC, but it seems to be getting stale after watching it for so long.

I have a large group of friends that going out whenever a new UFC is on and go nuts watching it...I just can't seem to get hyped about it anymore.

The downfall was a few years back when Olaff fought this young Russian kid and they literally beat the shit out of each other for 3 rounds. Olaff won I think, but it was the greatest fight I've ever seen and there hasn't been one like it since...and all the rest seems stale.

Oh well :(

So last night I was walking downtown for some pizza at like 1am with some friends of mine,
and someone said, "I'm so hungry I could eat a whole pizza."

I said, "I bet I could eat 100 pizzas," and no one understood me. I was sad.

I have been watching ufc since the ultimate fighter first season aired a few years back. i cant say i have ever seen Olaff fight, but the best i have seen to date ( and am still impressed when i watch the reruns of the fight ) is griffin vs bonnar ultimate fighter season finale. maybe not the most refined fight, but the pace of the striking had me into the fight the entire 3 rounds.

Three bad injuries. One guy got his leg broke, another guy refused to tap out of an arm bar and got his shit snapped back 90 degrees at the elbow, and another guy got knocked out so badly that when Rogan and what's his face were doing the post game wrap up, he was still koed in the cage getting a neckbrace put on him.

Hope everyone's ok, but it was a great night of free fights.

LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. -- A mixed martial arts fighter and his wife were found shot to death in a Laguna Niguel condominium in what authorities said was an apparent murder-suicide.

The bodies of Justin Levens and his wife, Sarah McLean-Levens, were found Wednesday afternoon, Orange County sheriff's officials said. The 28-year-old Levens competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship and other organizations.

Sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said the couple was found by the woman's mother, who called 911.

Lt. Mike Jansen says further information would be released Thursday.
