That Kaufman/Davis fight was basically the women's Griffin/Bonnar.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Damn straight- that was a great fight to watch. Was hoping Davis could pull out a sub in the 3rd to pull it out but regardless- really great action and stand up war.

Watched the Jon Jones - Rashad Evans fight the other night and it was another extremely impressive display by Jones. He is a freakish athlete, and his in-fight tactics are amazing to watch. I loved the way he lured Evans into grabbing his hands so he could unleash a sneaky elbow in close. Worked time and time again, to the point where Evans corner were having to shout at him to ignore the hands.

What is impressive about the UFC though is that despite being the better fighter in almost every way imaginable, it was still on a knife-edge all the way through as Evans had rocked Jones with an early Head-kick (and a few other haymakers). Was glad to see they managed to ease back on the trash talking once the fight was over too.

Couple of good young prospects on the undercard too. Apparently this guy Rory MacDonald is a protege of GSP and looked impressive in finishing off his opponent once it went to ground. I just hope they don't rush him, cos I thought he looked a bit skittish in the standup, and could get creamed against a striker that isn't terribly outmatched on the ground like Mills was (that's my very novice opinion). But he is only 22 i think, So he has loads of improving ahead of him if managed correctly. Especially when you see the type of improvements Jones has made in a few years (hard to believe his background is wrestling and not muay-thai or kickboxing)

Enjoyable card overall

Regarding Rory MacDonald, he was seven seconds away from beating Carlos Condit, the current interim champion, but got KO'd in one of the better comebacks in MMA history.

I wasnt all that impressed with Jones' victory over 'nipple tweaking supremo' Evans. I was expecting a serious beatdown, like he's done to everyone else, but didn't get that. It was not the most exciting fight.

Rory's win against che was a much better fight and by the end of the 1st round che looked like the loosing fighter out of Street fighter 2.

I cant wait to see the rematch between Silva and Summers, but it looks like a long wait...

Was able to snag 2 tickets to UFC $149 yesterday!!!

Tried to get 4 at $105, but only managed to get 2 $150 corner seats.

Guess we'll see which one of my friends like me best!

A live UFC or old Strikeforce event is something else. It really isn't the same as watching it on your couch. The fighters are faster, the drama higher and you get to see all of the fighting celebrities and whatnot as well.

99% of the fighting celebrities will talk to you and take pictures and so on. Every fight fan should go to at least one UFC/Big MMA show in their lives.

UFC 146. Co-main event Cain Velasquez VS. Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva. HOLY SHIT! That's the bloodiest fight I've ever seen!

There are others that are worse, but the list is smaller than 20.

This UFC 148 has some serious heat going for it. Silva-Sonnen II is really connecting with the audience at large.

UFC 148, Silvia vs. Sonnen II. Any prognostications from the prognosticating prognosticators who think they know? I prognosticate Silva wins by stoppage in round 3.

And holy crap, what about Ortiz vs. Griffin!

I just set the dvr to record it, cos i can't stay up til after 5am to watch it live. I just need to make sure i don't see the results in the morning

I'm hoping for an Anderson Silva victory, cos medical exemption or not, I don't like the notion of guys getting Testosterone replacement therapy due to my general suspicion of athletes taking drugs these days (kinda reminds me of the tactic of professional cyclists getting diagnosed as asthmatic to be allowed take certain treatments).

Maybe Amphibian can set me straight on my opinion in relation to Sonnen, but from what i've read of him, i'm skeptical. Anyway, for a prediction, I'll go for an Anderson win, just cos of the fact that last time, Sonnen made one mistake and lost, and i think that will ultimately prove to be the case again.

Looking forward to the undercard.

I'm willing to answer any and all questions you have for MMA to the fullest extent of my knowledge. Seriously, anything is game, including Sonnen and more.

Thank god silva won, my heart was in my throat and I thought it would be a repeat of last time, but with sonnen the winner...

Thankfully he tried that spectacular spinning elbow that landed him on his arse.

The look on his face as he sat there said it all..."oh shit"

Then that knee that looked like an illegal blow to the head had me worried...

good clean finish after that, Chael had no chance

I can rest easy now :wallbash:

Great UFC, but the co-main event was an odd one: Ortiz clearly had nothing in the tank and griffin just coasted in the final round, he should have buried the guy, hall of famer or not.

Also it's a shame that Kung joined UFC so late in his career, he would have been the fighter to watch at a younger age. Make good fight.

Go silva!!!!!!!
