Gedderone, Lady of Spring and Rebirth - GotM Glossary
The Garden Fete in Darujhistan was held in her honour, she's played no other role in the books.

Somewhere I missed that Togg and Fanderay were God's of Winter. I am correct in believing that they are gods of the beasts in some way? would you say they hold the beast throne? I just don't remember.

In rereading thru _DG_, it appears that the Beast Throne is empty.
Tor MME, p.515:
Quote
(Heboric) Do you see the Hold of the Beast? Who sits upon that antlered throne, Kulp?
(Kulp) It's empty...
(Heboric) ...No one on the throne, you say? Curious.
(Kulp) Why?
(Heboric) Because every echo of memory tells me there used to be

(Kulp) Why?
(Heboric) Because every echo of memory tells me there used to be
Shaken, not stirred.

Togg and Fanderay assumed the Beast Thrones at the end of MoI, which means it was also near the end of DG (since the two run concurrently). The above quoted passage took place before that.

Ok that is what I thought I remembered. So they are Winter deities as well?

Yes, they've been referred to as the Wolves of Winter on numerous occasions.

In MT, and partly in MOI I thought, didn't we see that T&F don't actually occupy the throne, they just hold it in name? I don't know if it's significant, but I'm fairly sure it's stated that the throne is empty but taken.

The main reason for that is the fact they are Beasts and would look farely silly perched on thrones. Besides could you imagine the size of the pooper scooper!

But surely that makes it pointless? Perhaps i am good. Just good at being pointless. But that would make me bad. Bad at having a point. Ah…. I see now. I was nothing before, I am nothing now. I am bad purely because im pointless. "

It's not about sitting on the throne, it's about letting D'ivers and Soletaken know that it's taken.
And yes, as Flawed pointed out, it would look silly.

Kif: Sir, remember your course correction?
Captain Zapp: No.
Kif: Well, it's proving somewhat more suicidal than we'd initially hoped.

Someone long ago should have considered making the throne more accessible to canines. Something like a dog bed, or dog house.
Anyway, the point wasn't just that they aren't physically sitting on it, but that they weren't occupying it in a spiritual manner, either. Maybe that was the point, and I just ascribed more signficance to it than it needed.
I still want to teach my dog to sit on our porcelain throne. It would save so many of the flowers in our backyard.

There really is a significant risk of one of the Wolves falling off the Throne if they try to lick themselves while on it.

Why do you think there are two?
Togg The Wolf Chappy
&
Fanderay The Wolf Lady
Two.
Wolves of Winter. Or were you being Sarky and i missed it? Its early ok!!!
I think that they are much more powerful together and when joined after all those Eons it pushed all other contenders aside. Now they can possibly command the Soul taken / Divers. Tlan Imass who reside there and the Ay. ( Eh!? ) Chortle!
The question is where will this all Lead to? I bet it will be Snappish! Quite possibly Hair-raising. Erickson needs to shake a leg and let us know. Stop wearing sheep's clothing. It will be furry interesting to find out.
Or am i Barking up the wrong tree............?

It was supposed to be a joke about licking themselves. Oh well...
The best gods have aspects of both the male and the female, because it thus balances their power (hmm...I wouldn't call Oponn one of the best, though). Or, they transcend duality of gender altogether.
Anyway, yes, it's just about guaranteed that the fur will fly.

hahahahaha while all the dog/wolf/fur jokes are good, i have to disagree with you sirius about the best gods having both male and female aspects.
witness Cotillion, Shadowthrone, K'rul (could be wrong there but i get the distinct impression he's a guy), Ardata, Kilmandaros (could be wrong there too, i've not yet read RG but the spoiler at the end of TBH and some parts of MT say she's female i think), the list goes on

First, I was being facetious, second, I was talking about gods in a general sense, not the Malazan sense. Obviously Oponn sucks compared to K'rul or Ardata.
