As the story progresses and we see more of the characters sometimes our opinions change. I am curious as to some of your most hated characters. Did any of your feelings evolved.

Hellian - I absolutely hate her. annoys the hell out of me but I still like her being a POV character


I sometimes like Seren Pedac and sometimes don't


I didn't like Karsa at first but now love him

The Mhybe did sort of annoy me, but on a reread I saw her ... more clearly I guess.

As for Hellian, she does annoy me. Everyone seems to love her, but beyond her ability to kick a, she bugs me.

Udinaas bugged me too, but towards the end I grew to like him more. I want to kill Clip.

Karsa became even cooler in my eyes with how he dealt with Rhulad and even the CG

I hated Feather Witch even more. And the Errant, originally I liked him, but now I really dislike him.

Seren Pedac was pretty lifeless and dull in MT - and that didn't change a great deal in RG - but I did warm to her a bit.

Well, there's 2 different answers to this question. Are you asking which characters we dislike as people, meaning that if they were real we wouldn't enjoy their company? Or which ones we dislike as characters, as in we don't enjoy reading about them?

Characters i like reading about the least:

The Mhybe - I like her character and understand it but it gets dull. Her plotline is very important tho and may provide clues into other mysteries such as Burn (why does she sleep? She sleeps to dream, much like the mhybe) and Dassem's daughter, aswell as adding insight into the creation of warrens.

The Patriotists - Bi-Polar Tanal Yathvanar and his nutjob boss just bored the hell out of me.

Felisin (Paran's Sister) - Bitch. Her only real purpose was as a focal point for the Convergence of important characters in the fourth book and to provide hood with the "meanless death" that was promised him by Oppon in GotM in exchange for Ganoes' life after Sorry shanks him.

Karsa - he's evolved more then any character in the books. Nothing in any of the books has beaten reading Book one of HoC for the first time for me yet. It was written so increadibly well i had no clue Karsa was "toblakai" from DG until near the very end

Ganoes - He was awesome in TBH and kicks ass now that hes chalk full of confidence after accepting his position

Hellian - love SE's POV writing with her, especially her Corporal, Touchy-Breathless

Itkovian - Just fucking Amazing..i shed tears...REAL TEARS, and i still do when i read it

Also, I love reading about anything that involves some kind of flashback, ancestral memory, etc regardless of character.

My most hated character in the bad, nearly ruined the book way is The Mhybe. Felisin Younger was also annoying, especially in DG, but not as much.

My most hated in love to hate, enhances the book way is the Errant.

For me mostly in reading their POVs. There are characters who I do not like the personality of but I am fine with reading about.

I used to dislike Icarium because he was always full of .. Pathos.
The Feather Witch is downright ugly.
And I want Anomander Rake to plunge Dragnipurake into Kallors ass.

Curious - when people say they 'hate' a character, do they mean they can't stand reading about the character ie: the author is wasting my time with this), or because they enjoy reading about them, but hate the character (ie: damn you Kallor you evil bastard i can't wait to see you get body-slammed by moist lepers!)?

Huh each to their own. I liked him...he just keeps getting battered by big guns, picks himself up and soldiers on. One of the most human characters in the book I felt.

I can't see how it's possible to not love Hellian, she's such a good character. The only character I've disliked reading so far was Hedge. Not very fond of Karsa either.

Karsa. I just cannot wait for him to slip and impale himself on his own sword. Don't mind reading his exploits for the people around him. I have hated him since the start and he's just got worse.

Hellian is still an almost unbearable character sober and was detestable in the bonehunters but surprisingly fun in reapers gale. May some local rotgut leave her insensate and unconcious for the rest of time.:angel:

Rhulad and Feather witch also rank among my most hated characters.
