Sorry if someone noticed it earlier but I'm just rereading RG and it struck me:
As I was never the one to doubt that Iskar Jarak was Whiskeyjack, now I wonder if the name of the nasty bird Udinass mentions to Seren Pedac is accidental (page 497).
Although "Iskar Jarak" seems only wrong pronaunced "Whiskeyjack" it still remains a bird (no matter that from some foreign continent). I know spelling is slightly different but anyway I find it funny. Thoughts?

It's definitive proof.

The Moranth call Whiskeyjack "Bird that Steals."

We learn that Jarack means a kind of bird.

A character called Iskar Jarack is a dead ringer for Whiskeyjack.

I don't think it could be any clearer that they are one and the same.

A Whiskeyjack is a type of "Jay" bird, AKA a Magpie which is a bird from the crow family. They eat pretty much anything and will take the sandwich right out of your hand if your not careful.

Hence the "Bird that steals".

Whiskey Jack is also an American-Indian God, Wisakedjak.
But that doesn't have much relevance I'm sure... : P
