I believe the run will be 500 Merely Rockin' Limited Edition hardcovers and 15 Ultra Fucking Rad Super Rockin' Edition versions. Obviously those aren't the 'official' descriptions, but what could be better than Ultra Fucking Rad? The answer is nothing. Nothing's better.

I am eagerly awaiting my Ultra Fucking Rad copy! As soon as I saw it I jumped out of my seat to order a copy. Thank goodness I did, as they sold out in the first day. I doubt Erikson's Lettered Editions will sell out the first day. Because they are not as rare. Lynch has only 15 Lettered copies while Erikson will have 52. Lettereds are not as special when they do double letters. Nevertheless I will try and buy a Lettered Edition.

Anyway Sub Press asked for some feedback before the Erikson books were announced, wondering if people preferred book quality over a slipcase. When I answered I put a p.s. saying if the fantasy author wasn't Erikson, they should think about him. When they announced Erikson, I just about blew my load (and I thought it was funny that it was exactly who I asked for them to do). I was so damn excited. Being a book collector, and thinking Erikson is the best fantasy author writing nowadays, this is a dream made in heaven, at least for me. :)

WANT. SO WANT.

Can I really justify spending that much money on a book, even if it is Erikson?

....F**K YEAH!

I'm guessing we can't pre-order, so any clues as to when it's coming out?

I am curious.
Does author get any money from limited editions?

Of course, SE will get his royalties the way he does with any work he produces. But Subterranean Press had to purchase the rights from Tor Books in order to be allowed to come up with the limited editions. . .

I am curious how much. Not an actual number but in general.
I will try to be more clear. As far as I know, author gets good money from hardback editions and that's it. The rest are peanuts. So, I wonder if author gets lots of money from limited edition, like he/she gets from hardback editions or very little, like he/she gets from paperback editions.

But then again, the publisher of the le has to pay for the right from themain publisher, so the mark-up is higher before you even get to quality, binding or signature.

- Abyss, increasing limited edition.

Hmmm, no publisher or author would go public with such information. I don't know if it's the same with limited editions, but a writer usually receive about 10% royalties for hardcover sales. Of which he then has to give 15% to his agent. . .

No info has been posted yet. Bill from Subpress said that he's waiting to have the contracts in hand before announcing a tentative pre-order date and more info.

Well, if SE himself selected the artist, he has to be good!;)

That doesn't determine what the content of the illustrations will be tho'.

- Abyss, tactfully avoids reference to the US Bonehunters cover.

EDIT: to add that that being said, the art at Komarck's site is stunning.
