Responses like that are just food for the troll, Xander, they feed on flames :p

I'd advice that people don't start a new wave of angry posts towards Cloud Strife and we get back on topic, less the mods just close the thread...

You're right Apt, I apologize. I've had a few beers.

Anyways. We still don't have an accurate page count for this book, do we?

I'm sure it will be of size with SE's full length novels though..

Less sucking up, more the fact that we agree with them, sorry to dissapoint.

Of course, if I hadn't quit as a mod, you would have been banned long ago, but I doubt it'll take long now:) Merry Christmas.

Puffing up works too.

I had a frind who wanted a motorbike, so he bitched for one for about 7 years. He got it.

Actually, I'm still stunned and awed that we have 2 AUTHORS in this awesome universe...thus...twice the greatness.

We are blessed indeed.

The page count was estimated to be around 900-950 pages based on word limit and rough estimation technique. Don't take my word for it, do a more accurate forecast.

No accurate pagecount yet no, but it will be of a 'normal' SE booksize, so around 900ish pages was what I was counting on aye :p

It's getting closer :p can't wait to have it in my hands...

Y'know, that's an interesting point; aside from Feist/Wurts' Empire/Riftwar thing back in the Stone Age, and Weis/Hickman on Dragonlance, i can't think of any other instance where two authors were writing an original universe (as opposed to say, Star Wars, Trek, etc etc.).

- Abyss, and also Abyss, writing as Abyss, in partnership with Abyss...

Hetan said the prologue should be coming soon, but again, it's hard to accurately predict these things when the publishers are involved.

We're close, so close to getting this book.

*jumping up in excitement*

Here's the synopsis again.

Quote

Synopsis
The return of the mercenary company the Crimson Guard could not have come at a worse time for the Malazan Empire. Drained by constant warfare, weakened by betrayal and rivalries, many see the grip of Empress Laseen weakening. Conquered kingdoms and principalities test their old independence. Into this gathering civil war on Quon Tali - the Empire's homeland - comes the Guard. And with their return comes the memory of their hundred year old vow: undying opposition to the existence of the Empire. Yet, rivalries and betrayals stalk the Guard as well - elements of its elite, the Avowed, scheme to open paths to even greater power. Ancient potent entities, Ascendants, also lend a hand exploiting all sides to further their own arcane ends.Meanwhile, a swordsman, Traveller, and his companion Ereko, move from one strange encounter to another in a mysterious dance meant ultimately to bring the swordsman to a final confrontation from which none have ever returned. As the Crimson Guard gathers itself from around the globe, Empress Laseen faces more immediate threats. To feed her wars she has bled dry provincial garrisons across Quon Tali and now regional nationalists see their chance.Behind their insurrections stand the veteran commanders of Laseen's predecessor, Emperor Kellanved. These generals and powerful mages, the "Old Hands," have lost patience with what they see as Laseen's mismanagement and have selected their own replacement. Yet, there are hints that Laseen may be using the uprisings to draw out and finally eliminate these last irksome survivors of her predecessor's rule...
